Setting the Standard in Oil Filtration Keep It Clean!® & Keep It Green!

Oil Characteristics Oil does not wear out • It oxidizes during the combustion process • It becomes contaminated due to high temperatures, soot, silica,

acid, sulfur, metal particles, water, fuel and glycol • When contaminated, oil can no longer protect, cool and lubricate • Additives are depleted

Oil can last indefinitely • When harmful gaseous, liquid, and solid contaminants are

removed and additives are replaced

The puraDYN® System Protects the Oil’s Properties by • Removing solid contaminants to below one micron • Removing liquid and gaseous contaminants • Replenishing the base additives in engine oil

The puraDYN® Oil Filtration System

• Is a multi-stage, highly efficient bypass oil filtration system

• Works with the oil in an engine or hydraulic system

• Cleans oil by removing solid, liquid and harmful gaseous contaminants

• Maintains proper lubricant viscosity

• Works in conjunction with the OEM full-flow filter

• Additive package maintains proper TBN levels in engine oil

• Process for chemical grafting, CGP®, maximizes filtration capabilities

Safely extends oil drain intervals!

Oil enters system at a slow rate of

approximately 6–8 GPH / 22-40 LPH

(engine) 12-16 GPH / 45-60

LPH (hydraulic)

The puraDYN® Filtering Process

Water, fuel and harmful gaseous vapors trapped in oil are evaporated in heated chamber

Oil is filtered through a disposable element with time-release additives to replenish depleted levels in oil, then cascades outside the element to evaporation chamber

Patented process for chemical grafting, CGP®,

increases solid particulate filtration efficiency.

Filters solid contaminants down to one micron.

The ‘X’ axis refers to the mileage run by the engine, illustrating regular service intervals of 15,000 miles; the ‘Y’ axis refers to the condition of the engine oil, deteriorating from good to increasing/high wear factor.

The red line refers to standard oil change intervals. Immediately after the engine is started after an oil change, the new oil is contaminated by the oil residual oil in the engine. During the period until the next service interval, the oil will become contaminated on an increasing basis, with commensurate engine wear increase, until the next oil change when the cycle repeats itself.

The blue line refers to the installation of the puraDYN® system. As shown above, there will be residual contaminated oil in the engine. During this initial period, larger solid particles are present in the oil and are collected by the puraDYN® and the full-flow filter, while liquid contaminants are removed, however, there will be slight additive depletion. At one half service interval, both the puraDYN® replacement filter element and full-flow filter are changed, the oil is topped up to replace lost oil in the puraDYN®

element and, therefore, the additives will be restored to the optimum level. This cycle repeats until the normal full service interval when the puraDYN® element is changed and, once more, the oil is topped up. From this period forward, the oil if effectively being processed. Over a period of time, the oil will improve in film strength and cling factor to the benefit of the longevity and fuel consumption of the engine.

Oil Analysis Evaluates the physical and chemical properties found in oil Provides: • Understanding of quality of lubricant • Effectiveness of the filtration system • The operating condition of the equipment

Oil analysis should be performed at each puraDYN® filter change.

Savings Analysis

Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) #660081 “Filtration of previously used oil to 5 microns had no significant effect on wear, but filtration to 1 micron had a substantial effect on wear.”

A fuel consumption study conducted in 2000 at the University of Leeds* demonstrated the benefits associated with cleaner oil on fuel economy. The test noted that the engine’s fuel efficiency increased 2%-3% when a bypass filter was used along with a full flow filter.

HYDRAULIC OIL CAPACITY

PFT8 Up to 12 quarts -N/A-

PFT12 Up to 24 quarts 15 gallons

PFT24 Up to 44 quarts 40 gallons

PFT40 Up to 100 quarts 100 gallons

Full Flow Filter Suggest change interval is every 12 months or 60,000 miles or 1,500 running hours, whichever comes first; 15,000 miles for PFT8 unit and also for recreational vehicle application

Oil Change No oil change needed unless recommended by the oil analysis report

When the puraDYN Bypass Oil Filtration System is installed/retrofitted as an aftermarket item, change both the oil and full flow filter at time of installation. Take a sample from the new oil for baseline oil analysis. Then, at one-half the normal oil drain interval (as shown above), change the puraDYN replacement filter and full flow filter and take an oil analysis sample. Thereafter, change the puraDYN replacement filter and perform oil analysis at the intervals shown above or, as oil analysis dictates. Continue using oil if lab report specifies oil is up to spec for continued use. *Oil analysis: Oil sample should be taken with engine running.
