Problem
- different pupil size between dim and bright light condition
- centration of laser ablation: pupil center, apex, line of sight
- eye tracking: pupil, iris
- pupil shift between the different light conditions could lead to
miss alignment of the laser ablation.
Method
- 47 healthy subjects both eyes (12♂, 35 ♀),
- mean age 36 years (range 23 to 60)
- WaveLight Allegro Topolyzer: Pupil software (dim [20 lux] and bright
light [455 lux] conditions)

Conclusions
- the average pupil shift is 0.11mm
- most pupils shift to temporal side
- huge variation 0.01mm to 0.348mm
- the larger pupils shifts could lead to a miss alignment
between tracking and laser ablation.
→ risk of decentration and poor visual outcome
