Lockdown Drill

Mr Moore will be coming into your assembly to talk about our lockdown drill

What will happen:

• A pop-up alert and alarm will sound on all staff PCs.

• An alarm will sound through the fire alarm system, this will be a short burst in a different tone.

• Staff will direct pupils inside, by the nearest entry point, to the nearest building.

• Staff will lock all exterior doors.

• All windows will be secured and blinds closed.

• Teachers will reassure pupils throughout the procedure.

• Pupils will be directed away from doors and windows and will sit underneath their desk.

• Nobody will be allowed in or out of any building for the duration of the drill.

• At the end of the drill the same pop up alert will sound to indicate the end of the drill and senior

staff will circulate around school.

Spinach & cheese soufflés in red peppers recipe

• Ingredients

4-6 red peppers

Olive oil

30g butter

30g plain flour

250 ml milk or fat-reduced cream

1 clove garlic

Salt and freshly ground pepper

3 large eggs

200g spinach

125 g grated mozzarella cheese (or crumbled feta)

Method

Preheat the oven to gas mark 5 – 190 degrees.

Halve the peppers and scoop out the ribs and seeds. Rub each

half with a little olive oil and arrange on a baking sheet, the

cavities facing up. Bake the peppers in the oven, preheated to

190ºC, for 10 minutes or until they feel slightly soft to the touch.

Mince the garlic using a garlic press. Finely shop the spinach.

Separate the egg white from the yolks in two separate bowls.

Heat the butter in a small saucepan and add the flour. Stir well to

combine and cook for 30 seconds before adding the milk or

cream. Whisk over medium heat until thickened.

Remove from heat, stir in the garlic, season and allow to cool a

little then whisk the egg yolks into the sauce, one at a time.

Add the spinach and cheese to the sauce and mix well. Taste

and adjust seasoning.

Divide the mixture between the pre-baked peppers. Bake in the

oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until the soufflés are no longer

wobbly, but puffed and golden.
