• Reading/analysing data
• Collecting and merging data
• Transmitting and making data available
• So they can help scholars to
• Create meaningful data
• Transform data into something useful
• Visualise intermediate research results that can help scholars in reasoning
LINKED DATA FOR HUMANITIES SCHOLARS
• To do this machines needs data first!
• Libraries have data, but it is not enough
• Some data can be auto-magically extracted…
• … but not always and not without help from humans
• … and we want data to be Linked Data
• Provides a uniform way to access data, so machines can reach it
• Provides a uniform data format (RDF) so machines can read data
• Hollows to connect to the web of data (reuse what is already out there)
