3. For pulleys subject to high stress
Ceramic material is suitable for pulley lagging, thanks chiefly to its specific properties of extremely high wear resistance provided by
aluminium oxide (Al2O3). It replaces traditional materials, because it provides higher profitability by considerably increasing the service
life and the efficiency of pulley laggings.
3.1 REMAGRIP CK-X – for maximum grip 3.2 REMAGRIP CP-X – the benchmark for wear resistance
Characteristics and advantages of REMAGRIP CK-X and CP-X:
• Provides significantly higher traction than traditional rubber covers
• High reliability even in wet, clayey and muddy operating conditions
• High resistance to wear (in several cases, service life 8-10 times longer than that of traditional rubber covers)
• Dynamic resistance optimised by arrangement of ceramic tiles based on FEM calculations
• Unique three-dimensional embedding of the ceramic tiles in the rubber substrate
• High self-cleaning effect due to grooves between the rows of ceramic tiles
• More flexible than traditional rubber/ceramic pulley laggings, therefore even small-diameter pulleys can be lagged easily
• Protection of the belt through elastic rubber base (optimum adaptation of the ceramic tiles to the conveyor belt surface)
• Durable adhesion if bonded with the consistent REMA TIP TOP bonding and primer systems
Description:
The plain surface of the ceramic tiles is highly
efficient, particularly on non-drive pulleys (ranging
from tail pulleys to snub pulleys) which are subject
to high wear.
Description:
The “knobbly” surface of the ceramic tiles provides
optimum grip on pulleys subject to high stress.

Bonding systems and special tools
REMA TIP TOP bonding systems enable optimum bonding of pulley laggings and idler sleeves. These bonding systems, together with
the corresponding hardeners and primers, have proved to be highly efficient in every climate. They are also approved for underground
mining, and conform to the most stringent safety and health regulations.
TIP TOP Industrie places emphasis on the protection of the environment; this is why their product range has included environmen-
tally friendly CFC-free bonding systems for many years.

SC 2000 Cement (non-flammable): available in black, green and
white versions; container sizes: 0.5; 1.0; 6.0; 12.0; and 290 kg
(only for black and green version).
UT-R20 Hardener, available in 20 g and 40 g containers.
SC 4000 Cement (flammable): available in black, green and
white versions; container sizes: 0.35; 0.7; 4.5 and 190 kg.
E40 Hardener, available in 15 g and 30 g.
Metal Primer (for preconditioning of metal surfaces) is available
as PR 200 (grey), PR 300 (red, only for SC 2000) and 400 (grey).
