Spirit of the living God, fall fresh on me;
Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me.
*CALL TO WORSHIP Rev. Jason Alspaugh, Leader
Leader: O sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done
marvelous things.
People: His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory.
Leader: The LORD has made known his victory;
he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.
People: He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
Leader: All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.
People: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.
Leader: Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody.
People: With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a
joyful noise before the King, the LORD.
Leader: Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
the world and those who live in it.
People: Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together
for joy at the presence of the LORD,
Leader: for he is coming to judge the earth.
All: He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity.
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN #319 Praise to the Lord, the Almighty LOBE DEN HERREN
Praise to the Lord, the Almighty is a hymn based on Joachim Neander's
German hymn Lobe den Herren, den machtigen Konig der Ehren,
published in 1680. This strong 17th century hymn employs many phrases
from psalms, especially Psalms 150 and 103:1-6. It did not receive an
effective English translation until the mid-19th
century, but has remained
popular ever since, thanks in part to its stirring tune.
*OPENING PRAYER Rev. Alspaugh
*CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (INSERT) I Just Came to Praise… ROMERO

Reading & Proclaiming God’s Word
NEW TESTAMENT LESSON Casey Gruszecki
Acts 10:44-48: While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word. The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter said, "Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they invited him to stay for several days.
Leader: Hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. People: Thanks be to God!
*GOSPEL LESSON Casey Gruszecki
Leader: The Gospel of the Lord according to John. People: Praise be to you, O Christ.
John 15:9-17: As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.
"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.”
Leader: For the Word of God in scripture, for the Word of God among us, for the Word of God within us.
People: Thanks be to God.
*THE FELLOWSHIP HYMN #297 Here I Am to Worship HERE I AM TO WORSHIP
Tim Hughes wrote this song in 1999 as a response to how he felt
after reading Philippians 2. The passage speaks about Christ's
humility and how He willingly left His throne in heaven, came to
earth as a man, and sacrificed Himself on the cross all because of His
love for us.

Turn Back O Man ................................... Gustav Holst
Turn back, O man, forswear thy foolish way. Old now is earth, and one may
count her days, yet thou, her child, whose head is crowned with flame,
still wilt not hear thine inner God proclaim, turn back, on man,
forswear thy foolish ways.
Earth might be fair, and all men glad and wise. Age after age their tragic
empires rise, built while they dream, and in that dreaming weep:
Would man but wake from out his haunted sleep, earth might be fair,
and all men glad and wise.
Earth shall be fair, and all her people one; not till that hour shall God’s
whole will be done. Now, even now, once more from earth to sky,
peals forth in joy man’s old, undaunted cry,
earth shall be fair, and all her folk be one.
*OFFERTORY RESPONSE (INSERT) Praise God… DOXOLOGY

ACOLYTES ENTER ON LAST VERSE OF HYMN
*HYMN OF RESPONSE #456 I Come with Joy DOVE OF PEACE
This text affirms that Christian unity is not achievement but gift; one
renewed each time we gather for the Lord’s Supper. Each of us enters
as an “I” and leaves as part of “we”. The unadorned language of this
text is well matched to the simple shape note tune that sets it here.
