Principal’s report
Riverina Swimming
Last week Katelin Heir competed at the Riverina
swimming carnival at Leeton. Katelin performed bravely
against some very talented swimmers, with some
outstanding results.
District Soccer Selection
Seanna attended the District Soccer Trials at Wagga,
completing against a large group of students from
around the district. She gained selection into this
District team who will play soon. Well done Seanna!
Easter Fun
Can you believe our Easter Fun Day is only 2 weeks
away?! Our SRC will once again be running our Easter
Egg Raffle and we will be seeking donations of Easter
eggs from families – see note regarding our Fun Day
later in this newsletter.
Life Education
Healthy Harold will be arriving in the first week of Term
2 to share his lessons on keeping safe and healthy.
Permission notes must be handed in in order for your
child to attend. This program usually costs students
$10, however, the school will cover the cost for
students to attend as this is a vital program for all
students to attend to support their learning in the
PD/HEALTH/PE syllabus
House Champs
As part of our positive behaviour initiatives, last
Thursday saw the announcement of our fortnightly
House Champs – well done to the Slater students who
managed to achieve a total of 635 points for respectful,
responsible and safe behaviour and positive classroom
effort.

Girls Cricket Team
The Girls cricket team played in Round 1 of the PSSA
knockout at Wagga in week 6, coming away with a
win. They had a win in Round 2 due to a forfeit,
meaning they now progress to Round 3 in a few
weeks. Well done girls!

Morning Reading
Stage 3 students are running a Home Reading
Program in the hall each morning before school.
Students from Kindergarten & Stage1 can attend and
read to a Stage 3 student. People who attend earn a
point for their House. At the moment, there aren’t
many students attending and we would love to see
more students make use of this program. The Stage 3
students are pleased that the students attending
regularly, enjoy this reading time and leave with big
smiles on their faces. A big thank you to our Stage 3
students (Leah, Brayden & Cody) for providing this
service.
