Today was certainly a fun day. The school was alive with chickens, rock stars and divas. The reason for the celebration was our participation in the National Simultaneous Storytime reading of “Whitney and Britney – Chicken Divas”.
We have included lots of photos in the newsletter today and we will have others on our website asap. Apart from dressing up fun, the canteen were selling mini cup-cakes decorated like chickens. A huge thank you must go to Mrs McAlpine, Ms White and Mrs Mifsud who worked hard all morning to make over 300 cupcakes as well as getting the lunch orders ready. Thank you ladies – everyone enjoyed the cakes and can’t wait for the next day.
We had a couple of lucky draws for students who participated in the dress-up day:
• Patrick F and Isaac N were the lucky winners who are going to be the first people to borrow our 2 copies of “Whitney and Britney – Chicken Divas” from the library. After Patrick and Isaac have finished reading the book they will be available for other children to borrow.
• The other participation prizes went to Ashton R, Isabella M, Alexis B and Clayton T. Congratulations and thank you for joining in the fun of the day.
Our changes to drop off and pick up routines are working very well. We do ask that parents not congregate at the gate. This is for social distancing reasons and also so the teachers can get a good view of all the parents who are waiting at their cars. It would be a great help if you would wave to us when you see your child at the gate – I do realise that in a green hat everyone looks the same! We are sending all the children home with their hats on. This seems to have resulted in a dramatic decline in the number of lost hats.

Big band will re-commence next week Friday 5th June 8:15am in the hall. Mr Lock and Mr Saunders will commence band lessons Thursday 4th and Friday 5th. Mrs Moss will commence Thursday 5th. Mr Connolly (guitar) will commence the
following Wednesday 10th June. DANCE – Dance commenced yesterday. We sorted out all the credits from last term and adjusted the invoice that was sent home Monday. Please pay this ASAP.
UNIFORM INFORMATION With the rainy weather and parents now collecting from cars, maybe you might like to purchase our school raincoats that not only cover students, they cover their bag as well and keep everything dry.
