FOREWORD

The Telecommunication Industry in Indonesia has

in the past decade experienced rapid growth and

with new technologies deployed combined with

an ever-growing population is expected to grow

further. Historically, telecommunication operators

and tower providers acted independently

developing stand-alone towers and networks

for themselves. This has resulted in too many

towers with single operator tenants built in an

un-anaesthetic fashion that destroys the urban

and country landscape.

The Government has attempted to address

this problem by enacting policies through the

Ministry of Communications and Informatics

which regulates and gives guidelines for the

development and use of telecommunication

BTS towers. In essence the requirement is

to camouflage towers that blend in with the

environment as well as to utilise more operators

on existing and new towers.

PT. Global Indonesia Komunikatama’s (GIK)

development program is based meeting these

government requirements whilst contributing to

the social economic environment. GIK have a

vast land bank of sites in strategic locations to

suit the requirement of any Telco.

There are over 700 000 registered mosques in

Indonesia from which we can identify a specific

location at a mosque that meets government

and operator requirements. At the same time,

we create a positive impact on the economic

development of the mosque and its community

without disturbing the function and aesthetics of

the new and or existing mosque minaret.

GIK is a leading company in the innovation of

tower design, delivery and management. The

program, to date, has had a positive impact on

all parties and continues to be one of the best

solutions for the Indonesian telecommunications

roll-out.

BACKGROUND

PT GLOBAL INDONESIA KOMUNIKATAMA

GIK) is a tower provider company, which)

provides design and engineering, site

acquisition, building permits, site construction

tower leasing, maintenance program, supply

services and BTS management services.

The Company was incorporated on 21st

January 2010 and originally engaged by the

Indonesian Council of Mosques (DMI) and The

People of Indonesian Mosque Council (YPPU)

to act as a BTS provider jointly with national

mosque.

Since the establishment in 2010, GIK has

developed an enviable track record, by

illustrating its ability to deliver towers timeously

and within specification to our clients.

Firmansyah JayaKusuma (Firman)With more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications sector, Firman has established

himself as a leading facilitator of BTS operations. Having worked with some of the leading vendors

and operators, Firman has developed a network of positive relationships across all areas of the

telecommunications sector.

Firman, a qualified Civil Engineer from the University Jayabaya Jakarta, is the Executive Director of

PT GIK undertaking his day to day capacity as Innovation Manager, overseeing BTS operations and

strategic development.

Ratu Feiruz (Iyus)Having a wealth of experience in the Project Management field, Iyus leads the client relations team.

Having joined PT GIK in 2011. Iyus is the primary communication point for all our clientele, specifically

responsible for the administrative and financial good governance of BTS Operations.

Iyus has held a number of roles in the telecommunications sector and in doing so has developed a

portfolio of understanding and skills, complementing her good communication aptitudes delivering a

foundation of strength in PT GIKs’ OPCO business.


Petra Indrapratama (Petra)Petra a Civil Engineer, a graduate of Universitas Kristen Maranatha, joined PT GIK in 2010 in his

capacity as Project Manager – BTS Infrastructure. Having worked with leading Vendors, NSN &

Ericsson, Petra delivered a credible skillset of project expertise and technical knowledge.

Responsible for the strategic rollout of BTS infrastructure across the breadth of Indonesia, his

acumen, interpersonal skills, technical knowledge and experience continues to deliver a portfolio of

a high quality telecommunications network.


Choerul Ihwan (Choerul)Choerul joined PT GIK in late 2014, taking on the responsibility of BTS Maintenance & Support. An

Electrical Engineer with complimentary project management skills, Choerul ensures BTS operational

compliance.

Choerul has established skills and experience in varying facets of the CME sector and has worked

for a number of key players in the Indonesian market. Choerul ensures good governance with the

supply chain and transparent compliance with relation to established standards of quality across the

PT GIK BTS network.

GIK works closely with the community and the local mosque in seeking an alliance to facilitate the

requirement for the location of a telecoms structure, In doing so, it is our hope to ensure that all are in

agreement as to is implementation. The process involves open discussions and presentations of the

design and delivery program with any community feedback vigilantly considered.

Through the adoption of a GIK package, the community and mosque may derive a financial benefit via

an acceptable land rental agreement. Whilst GIK is hopeful that such agreements are achieved, these

of course must be balanced with the interests of all parties concerned and not opportunistic, otherwise

the opportunity is lost to all.

The support of the mosque and community is one that GIK is proud and respectful of and the ongoing

rollout may only be successfully achieved with their working relationship and support.
