PSY1011 Learning objectivesOn completion of the unit you should be able to:
Describe and discuss major theories and empirical findings in six core psychology disciplines, including:
a) personality and psychological assessment, b) learning, c) biological bases of behaviour, d) developmental psychology, e) sensation and perception and f) history and philosophy of psychology.
Outline the scientific approach to understanding human behaviour and explain the rationale behind this approach.

Objectives contd
Investigate and critically evaluate a range of issues related to psychological inquiry in the core discipline areas studied.
Use information pertaining to the science and practice of psychology in an ethical manner.
Review the literature on a specific psychological topic and communicate findings according to the professional requirements of the psychology discipline.
