Employed by The Department of Defense for 29 years as a Graphic Artist in the area of Military Research. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe Suite. I created and designed publications, reports, new letters, brochures and plotted charts/graphs. Also provided large printing process services and laminations. Have utilized Adobe Suite for 26 years to create medical and technical illustrations for incorporation in abstract reports. Also worked as a Portrait Photographer and Studio Manager.

EXPERIENCE11/1989 - December 2014, Graphic Artist/ Visual Information Specialist, DJ3; Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and the Navy Medical Research Center (NMRC), Medical Audio Visual Services (MAVS), Silver Spring, MD. Served as a visual information specialist in the Division of Medical Audio Visual Services to WRAIR and NMRC, with responsibility for performing graphic and fine art designs illustrating medical research for the soldiers & combat care.

Consulted with researchers and other subject matter specialists to develop an understanding of the project objectives. I researched and studied manuscripts, notes and background materials to gather ideas for creating the best possible visuals. I also created logos for WRAIR, the NAVY’s Neuro-Cognitive Vestibular-Acoustic Trauma Unit, and the US Army for the Accession Screening & Immunization Program. Also produced abstract illustrations such as: Plasmodia Life Cycle on Malaria, and other infectious diseases. I designed and created posters, slide presentations and programs for medical symposiums, and various other ceremonies. Designed and built large displays, and worked with IT as lead artist in the redesign of WRAIR‘s web site.

I take pride in my work, and had an exceptional relationship with all my customers/researchers. I worked closely with them, building trust and giving them a quality product they would be proud of. Consequently, they were able to get the funding they needed.

Each year I’ve received numerous commendations. I worked independently under the supervision of the Chief, Department of Medical Graphics.
