BONES.

Is composed: many muscles and bones.Lets you : move parts of your body, move from one place to another.

MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM.

FUNCTIONS OF THE SKELETON

The musculoskeletal system is composed of many muscles and bones (206 bones).

It supports your body, helps you to keep itself.

It protects the bodys: internal organs like the brain, heart and lungs.

It is conected to muscles that move different bones.

BONES

Bones are made of:bone cells that form bone tissues.Cells can:Grow, reproduce and repair broken bones.JOINTS: Are parts of the skeleton were bones are conected. LIGAMENTS: Are elastic joints that keep bones together.

MUSCLES

Muscles are made of:muscle cells.Cells can:Relax, contract, become larger and become shorter.Relax and contract to move different body parts.Tendons:Are non-elastic fibres wich can conect muscles and bones.

Different shaped bones:

Bones of the head: brain protection and face shape.

The bones of the trunk: spinal column, sternum and ribs.

The bones of the extremities: arms and leg bones

Head bones

TRUNK BONES

Upper & lower extremities

There are 4 extremities ,2 upper extremities (for grabing)And 2 lower extremities (for walking )

They include…..

Upper extremities :shoulder,arm,forearm & handLower extremities :hip,thigh,leg & foot

Both hands and feet have five fingers of which the thumb of the hand is opposed to the other, allowing

the function to grab
