AFD OIZ & Environment Loan

• Halkbank provides Green Credit opportunities to OIZs andCompanies within OIZs by Loan provided from AFD regardinginvestments on environment, renewable energy and energyefficiency .

• This loan can also be utilized for the pollution prevention andenergy efficiency investments of Industries outside of OIZs.

Water Pollution Control Regulation• Industries are obliged to obtain the necessary permits from the

authorized institutions and constitutions in order to providedischarge standards given in the regulation.

• Establishment of a common wastewater treatment plant forsimilar wastewater producing industries and settlements

• Industries may discharge their wastewater to the urbansewerage system in a condition of complying with the sewagesystem connection conditions and taking the necessarypermits.

• Industries are obliged to establish and operate their own pre-treatment systems, if it is necessary.

• Use of treated wastewater in irrigation


Industrial Air Pollution Control Regulation

• Establishment and operation of facilities subject topermission;• Not exceeding emission limits defining in the regulation,

• Not exceeding air quality limit values in the facility impact area

• The measurement of exhaust gas emissions, the determination andthe contribution to air pollution must be calculated.

• No pollution generation by reduction of the harmful effectsof the facility on the environment via applying bestproduction and/or treatment techniques,


Industrial Air Pollution Control Regulation-2

• Total Air Emission Limitations: It may be required tolimitative measurements for the total emission given anytime to the outside air for all industries operating in criticalareas where they are intensive and the total emissionlimitation will be done.

• The competent authority may determine the appropriatefuel or raw material to be used to reduce air pollution infacilities where the fuel and raw materials can be replaced atthe times when the air pollution reaches critical dimensions.

• OIZ Managements has to prepare and Updateregularly a Waste Management Plan and coordinatewith related Authorities

WWWTP sludge moisture level as low as possible

• The optimum disposal method for Sludges should be defined inaccordance to sludge analysis results

• Options for disposal: Material Recovery (additive to tile, brick,ceramics etc), energy recovery in Cement Factories, Landfilling,incineration or Soil Application
