In celebrating and acknowledging the 150 years since Patrick Ambrose Treacy and the pioneer brothers arrived in Melbourne and the 50 years since Parade College East Melbourne relocated to its present site at Bundoora, approximately 40 brothers gathered at Parade College.
A ritual was held that incorporated the recently installed outdoor sculpture of Ambrose and his companions. The brothers were welcomed by the Acting Principal Mr Andy Kuppe and the highlight of the ritual was the “performance” of the Parade College students as they told the stories of Ambrose Treacy, Fersey Bodkin, Barnabus Lynch, Joseph Nolan and Regis Hughes. (Hughes arrived 18 months after the four founding Brothers).
Following the ritual, the brothers enjoyed lunch generously served by Parade College. During the lunch Edmund Garvey spoke and Ted Magee gave a vote of thanks.
