The Guides Code
“The Certified Guide should behave in a loyal and helpful way towards each other. The certified guides should especially avoid ‘competitions’ among each other and mutual pushing of the risk level caused by competitive thinking.”
![Page 4: Providing Access and Insurance to AMGA certified guides and IFMGA guides](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081520/56649ee05503460f94beff2f/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)

What we learned from the CGF…
• Low membership• Permits were hard to obtain
under this model• Subcontracting
![Page 6: Providing Access and Insurance to AMGA certified guides and IFMGA guides](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081520/56649ee05503460f94beff2f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
Why is a Co-Op Important?
• Acts as a pool of resources to access key services: Insurance and Permits
• Fits the current permit system in the US• Provides access for US and foreign guides• Member Owned - Member controlled • Lowest Cost to Guides• A resource for all guides• Solves the Subcontracting issue
![Page 7: Providing Access and Insurance to AMGA certified guides and IFMGA guides](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022081520/56649ee05503460f94beff2f/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)

• Incorporated in Washington State• Draft of a Business Plan• Five Year Financial Plan• Draft of Bylaws• Operational Plan• Risk Management Plan• Insurance Policy Secured

The Co-op should exist because…
• Provides credentialed access within the existing system
• Reciprocity – the Co-op works for foreign guides
• The AMGA has the support of the IFMGA for all avenues of credential based access in the United States. This includes the CGC as one potential solution
