Provide first aid (HLTAID003) ONE DAY FORMAT This course is applicable for both students wanting to recertify Provide first aid and those who have completed the Provide first aid Blended online theory course. If you are recertifying, this course will update the skills and knowledge gained (within the previous 3 years) and revise First Aid procedures. It will also inform you of changes since your previous First Aid course. If you have completed course theory online, this one day course will provide you with the practical training necessary to complete the Provide first aid HLTAID003 course and receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment. What will I study? Venue: 8/6-8 Ralph Black Dr, North Wollongong NSW 2500 Cash, Credit Card, PayPal, Cheque, Money Order (paid in advance or prior to commencment of course) Refunds are available contact the office. •conduct a hazard assessment and identified strategies to minimise risk •demonstrate safe manual handling techniques •assess airway, breathing and responsiveness of casualty •performed at least four minutes of uninterrupted CPR on both an infant resuscitation manikin and an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor, demonstrating the following techniques on each: •checking for response and normal breathing •recognising abnormal breathing •opening and clearing the airway •using correct hand location, compression depth rate in line with the ARC recommended ratio of compressions and ventilations •acting in the event of regurgitation or vomiting •following single rescuer procedure, including the demonstration of a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to compressions •followed the prompts of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) •conducted a verbal secondary survey •applied first aid procedures for the following: •allergic reactions •anaphylaxis •asthma •basic wound care •severe bleeding •burns •cardiac arrest •choking and airway obstruction •convulsions •envenomation (using pressure immobilisation) •fractures, sprains and strains (using arm slings, roller bandages or other appropriate immobilisation techniques) •poisoning •respiratory distress •shock •provided an accurate verbal report of the incident •responded to at least two simulated emergency scenarios contextualised to the candidate’s workplace/community setting. Course Duration: Full course: Completion of pre-course study plus 6 hours face-to-face Do I need to have completed previous study? No There is a requirement of the training package is that you are to be assessed as physically capable of performing uninterrupted CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult resuscitation manikin placed on the floor. It is recommended that participants have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to the Australian Core Skills Framework Level 2. An example of ACSF Level 2 is being able to request appropriate or call 1800 820 950 / 0246477726 What is the USI? The Unique Student Identifier is a National Government initiative for all students from 1st January 2015. Your USI account will contain all of your nationally recognised training records and results completed from 1st January 2015 onwards. This will assist when you are commencing employment with a new employer or if you are commencing study with a new training organisation. Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements. Credit for Skills and past learning: Macbec mutually recognises Statement(s) of Attainment and qualifications issued by other RTO's. This course is applicable for both students wanting to recertify Provide first aid and those who have completed the Provide first aid Blended online theory course.
