Principal’s Note
Hello and welcome to my Principal’s Note for Week 8.
Well done to all, for the outstanding commitment that is evident
throughout the school each day. It is always great to see students
engaged and striving to complete all tasks to the best of their ability.
With only forty-five hours of teaching and learning to go before Term 1 concludes, I suspect that all classes are striving to fulfil their re-
quirements to finalise the first school term for the year. Good luck!
Attendance
The 2018 School Attendance Target is 95%, for
Week 7 our school’s attendance rate was 91.4%.
Week 7 Attendance Data: Prep – 94.44%, Yr 1/2 –
95.24%, Yr 3 – 92%, Yr 4/5 – 94.67%. Yr 5/6 –
90%, Yr 7-10 – 98.33%.
Highest attendance for Week 7: Yr 7-10 –
98.33%!
Regular attendance leads to enhanced achieve-
ment and learning progress. Let’s ensure all stu-
dents attend school to reap the rewards of con-
sistent participation and engagement. Unless your
child is ill, it is expected that your child will be at
school learning every day of the school year.
P & C
The P & C Annual General Meeting for 2018 will be held on Monday
26 March from 3:15pm. Your attendance and participation is very
important to our school and students. See you there!
Reminder
Parents, please be aware that students should not arrive at
school before 8:30am unless prior arrangements have been made
or specific activities are on. I have noticed a number of students are
arriving early. Supervision does not commence until 8:30am.
School Sport
Well done to all students who travelled to Mitchell to participate in
the Roma & District Football Trials this week.

Mrs Gill’s News
Hi everyone!
This week has been busy in the High School, with our assessments ramping up as we are heading towards the end of Term 1. The stu-dents have continued working hard in class and at home, and their efforts and support from fami-ly is greatly appreciated.
On a fun note, the High School students attend-ed the Close the Gap Day at the Surat River Walk this past Monday. They had a fantastic time making smoothies on the 'smoothie bike' and interacting with stall holders and members of the community. I wish everyone a great finish to the term as we all look forward to the holi-days.
