The main deterioration mechanism for concrete decks is corrosion of reinforcement and scaling of concrete. Protectosil products for concrete decks are designed to repel water and chlorides, reducing deterioration and increasing surface life. Protectosil prod-ucts penetrate deeply to provide long service life even on wearing surfaces. Because they do not change the skid or slip resistance of the concrete, they are ideal for driving surfaces.

Protectosil products are clear, breathable, and penetrating. They are silane-based and are suitable for above-grade brick masonry, concrete masonry and concrete. They will not yellow, peel or fade, and they keep the building façade looking natural. By reducing the amount of water entering the substrate, Protectosil products discourage the entry of water carrying contaminants such as salts and dirt, reducing deterioration caused by efflorescence, mildew, scaling, acid rain and spalling.
