Protection in case of sickness• As an entrepreneur you will not enjoy some of

the basic insurance coverage you would have had as an employee

• Your income as an entrepreneur qualifies you for sickness benefit

• The self-employed have to insure themselves against income loss due to sickness absence, disability and unemployment. Because these insurances are quite expensive, many self-employed are not insured for this

Real life cases

Case 1 Pension 400 Euro/month 65 years old, self-employed 30 years, no

family

Case 2 New regulations forces to seek job though sick 38 years old, 4 children and husband,

different companies 10 years

Case 3 No rehabilitation - burn-out, young, overoptimistic 25 years old, tried to build a family and a

company at the same time

What drives you to live the life you live everyday?

• Many of us strive to achieve balance between our professional and personal lives.

• This balance is partially accomplished by knowing yourself and how to effectively communicate your convictions.

• Another aspect in achieving balance is finding your passion.

Conclusion

• Structural level– We need to influence the EU structures to get more

supportive regulation/laws for self-employed women

• Organisational level– We need to negotiate better protection schemes and

funds for continues support of WE networks and RC

• Individual level– We need individually designed coaching programmes

for health competence and for creating balance between work life, family and private life
