How we enforce the legislation

Prostitution will go underground if you criminalize the

sex buyers and authorities will not be able to find it.

be able to find it

-Violence against women in prostitution will increase

-Women in prostitution will not speak with the

authorities if you arrest the buyers being their source of

income

-Women in prostitution will not dare to report violent

clients to the police

-To enforce this legislation will take a lot of resources

-The law has a strong normative effect. Buying sex is

not socially acceptable.

-The sex buyers are afraid of the police.

-The law actually protects the women. Women in

prostitution speak of Sweden as a safer place

compared to other countries

-The law creates a bad market for the traffickers - It

strikes directly at organized crime!

-Higher prices because of the criminalization.

-A rise in public awareness.
