Pros & Cons of 2 Genres – Action & Horror Action Horror Pros Cons Pros Cons Easy Storyline Common such as running, fighting, chasing, explosions, shooting etc. Hard Editing Difficult to match the sounds, effects, Less Locations Normally done in 1 or 2 locations (house, forest etc.) Special Effects – Including effects within the body (insects, eyes, mouth etc.) the evil character is not shown as a form. Foley Sound Same sound effects (explosions, car crashes, gun shots etc.) Music Difficult to find music that matches specific scenes Less Characters – Horror movies normally have a group of 5-6 characters as the story goes on the get eliminated Music - Difficult to keep the audience interested as you have to build up suspense Costumes Mostly casual clothing used Props – Extra cars for explosions Easy Storyline Common storyline, demons, ghosts, supernatural activity etc. Make up – Making the character look scary (skin, face etc.) Lighting Natural lighting is used most of the time Hard to make it realistic Effects would need to be synchronized properly Costumes Casual clothing worn by the characters Specific Lighting – Most horror movies are shot in the dark.
