Prop planning The first prop I will need to buy is a mask for the unnamed character at the end of the sequence. The mask will either be a gas mask, or mask that my drama department can lend me, as I am trying to run this project on a zero budget. The gas mask was my original idea for the face, as it has connotations of history and terror, which would link to the theme of my film, as the figure is meant to represent the protagonists fear leaking into the programme from his neural network. The dark colours represent the evil that lingers within the characters depressed mind, and as it only shows the eyes of person, it adds a harrowing yet personal representation of this subject, that the audience would find intriguing. As a second resort, the drama mask is a lot cheaper, but it wouldn’t create such a scary atmosphere that I would have originally hoped for. This mask(right) could reflect that of the depressed emotion from the protagonist, with the saddened denotation from the mask, as they hold an exaggerated expression, which could highlight to the audience that the protagonists depressed nature is coming back to haunt him in this simulated environment. I will also require a fake needle in order to represent a medical procedure that will put my protagonist into the dream state. This has professional connotations, which links to the idea that he has signed up to a modern and groundbreaking experiment, but also adds a simplistic aspect for filming the scene. In order to achieve a realistic outcome from this shot, i will require either a retractable needle, although these are very expensive, or a blunt needle combined with a less revealing camera angle. Additionally, I will require a medicine bottle with a pretend pill in, to show the protagonists attempt at recuperating alone, as the only thing that can keep him content are anti depressant. Pills connote sickness, which links to the reasoning why the protagonist would sign up to the program in the first place.

Prop planning  The first prop I will need to buy is a mask for the unnamed character at the end of the sequence. The mask will either be a gas mask, or  mask that my drama department can lend me, as I am trying to run this project on a zero budget. The gas mask was my original idea for the

face, as it has connotations of history and terror, which would link to the theme of my film, as the figure is meant to represent the protagonists fear leaking into the programme from his neural network.
