PROBLEM STATEMENTIs it possible the existence of a simple,

progressive, and scalable framework of corporate IT governance to be applied in the public

universities of Ecuador?

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES• Propose a simple, progressive and scalable, specific

framework for corporate IT governance, and apply it to public universities of Ecuador.

• Validate the proposed framework of the corporate IT governance for public universities of Ecuador, in a case study.

• Determine a specific maturity model, for the public universities of the Ecuador, allowing measuring the level of capabilities and adaptation of the corporate IT governance framework.

EDM02 Ensure the delivery of benefits of the University.

Optimize the contribution to the value of the "business" from the processes of "business", the IT services and IT assets, result of the investment made by IT at acceptable costs.

EDM03 Ensure the optimization of the risk of the University.

Ensure the environment and the tolerance for the risk of the University, they are understood, articulated and

communicated; and that the risk to the value of the University related to the use of the IT is identified and managed.

EDM04 Ensure the optimization of resources of the University.

Ensure that adequate and sufficient capacities related to the IT (people, processes and technologies) are available to

effectively support the objectives of the University at an optimal cost.

EDM05 Ensure the transparency to stakeholders of the University.

Ensure that the measurement and the reporting in terms of compliance and performance of IT of the University are

transparent, with approval by stakeholders of goals, metrics and the necessary corrective actions.
