Slit the plastic liner with a knife, make a shallow cut

Partially fill the hole with soil, do not use mulch or manures

Backfill most of the hole and tamp to remove air pockets

The backfill is finished with a final tamping with your feet

In root rot soil, gypsum is added to the surface at 10-20 lbs per tree
