Prop List

When researching popular movies that belong to the same genre, movies such as Snatch, Hot Fuzz and Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking barrels seem to use very similar props. Since these movies are based around young street gangsters, they do not relate to mafia movies such as Goodfellas, The Godfather or Scarface. Gun props would not be advised as the story consists of gaining reputation without murder. So firearms will not be considered, although possible alternatives consist of knives, cricket/baseball bats, wrenches or brass knuckles. The ensemble characters will use these, also I will be using a chair and some duct tape for the victim for a clip where one of the characters is torturing.

Additionally, during the confrontation between the street thug and one of the gang members, I plan to use the props to help foreshadow, further developing the plot. The gang member will have book placed on his side of the table, with the king of spades card used as a book mark. Although, since the plot progresses, the audience understands that the rookie betrays him. To help show that, I plan to foreshadow this by having the rookie keep an ace of spades in his back pocket, since an ace has a higher rank compared to a king, creating questions being asked by the audience in just the first two minutes of the movie.
