A “Just Right” Universe



Intelligent Design-History• William Paley argued that God's existence could be inferred from the designs seen in biology. He

said that if one were walking and came upon a watch, one would not assume that it was the

product of nature. It must have been designed by an intelligent being. Likewise, Paley said that

the designs seen in biology must be the result of an intelligent Designer.

• The degree of knowledge in biology at the time made arguments on each side difficult to asses.

Paley's argument is one of analogy. Critics have stated that it is questionable whether the

complex designs of nature are a good analogy with a watchmaker. A watch is made from parts

that are specifically designed and put together. The process by which animals are made seemed

to be somewhat different. Little was known about embryology and nothing was known about

genetic code and algorithms. Obviously, in the case of organisms, the design is passed on

from parent to child. The question then becomes, "Was the mechanism designed or did it

happen by accumulation of natural processes?“

• Recently, biologists Stephen Jay Gould and Richard Dawkins (The Blind Watchmaker ) have

attempted to refute Paley's argument on the basis of "bad" design. Several of these argumentshave been refuted.

how our existence came to be.

• Either we had a beginning or we did not have a beginning.

– Most atheists maintain that there was no beginning tothe world. The world was like this for ever. The idea isthat matter has always existed in the form of either matter or energy; and all that has happened is that matter has been

changed from form to form, but it has always been.– There is no answer to the question, “How did matter or energy

– The Bible says, "In the beginning God created the

• Big Bang : Scientists have proven that galaxies are movingfrom each other and that the universe is expanding. If theuniverse is expanding now, it means once it started from asmall object, At a point! At the beginning! At what scientistscall a singularity! . Big Bang is a well accepted theory.

• In 1999, it was discovered that the galaxies are acceleratingin their expansion. Any notion that we live in an oscillating or pulsating universe has been dispelled by this discovery. Theuniverse is not slowing down, but speeding up in its motion.

Who caused the Big Bang – creating the universe from a single point ?



• Like all stars, the sun generates its energy by a nuclear process known as thermonuclear fusion.

• Every second that passes, the sun compresses 564million tons of hydrogen into 560 million tons of heliumwith 4 million tons of matter released as energy.

• In spite of that tremendous consumption of fuel, the sunhas only used up 2% of the hydrogen it had the day itcame into existence.

If the universe existed for ever like Atheists say, all these hydrogen wouldhave been converted to Helium.

98% of Hydrogen means, sun and stars were created.

• Just think about it! If everywhere in the cosmos hydrogen is beingconsumed and if the process has been going on forever , how muchhydrogen should be left? Answer is zero.

• The fact is, however, that the sun still has 98% of its originalhydrogen. The fact is that hydrogen is the most abundant material in theuniverse! Everywhere we look in space we can see the hydrogen 21-cmline in the spectrum--a piece of light only given off by hydrogen.

If both these laws have to satisfy together ,Then universe must have a beginning,

Otherwise by this time, all the energy in the universe would already have been

exhausted and reached the stage of “Heat death”. If not by infinite time, The

temperature in the universe would have been same. The system would be "dead"

because no further work can be done, since there is no more available energy.all radio active carbon(or any atoms) would have been decayed, making even radio

carbon dating method impossible. This is an undeniable proof that the universe was

created with a huge amount of energy and now some of that energy is being lost.

Thermodynamics laws are fundamental toPhysics and Engineering and are taughtin the colleges.

• First law: Total amount of Mass andEnergy in the universe is a constant.

• Second law: In any closed system( or universe), the entropy (unavailableenergy) increases , that is the amount of energy in the universe is running down.

The reverse cannot happen.

“Even a universe that expands and collapses and expands again forever” . This would also die

because it would lose light and heat each time it expanded and rebounded. Also the questionis who cause expansion and collapse – remember Newton‟s second law.

Thermodynamics proves that available energy in the universe isdecreasing. So If we go back in time, we know that at a point in time, we

had the maximum energy in the universe ( like 100% unconverted

Hydrogen in Sun ).

Question : Who or what could have produced energy in an available

state in the first place? Who is beyond the law of Thermodynamics ?

We haven’t seen any Atheists answering this challenging question ?

Answer: Only someone or something NOT bound by the

second law of thermodynamics.

Only the creator of the second law of thermodynamics could

violate the second law of thermodynamics, and create energy in a

state of availability in the first place.

chance over billions of years. Newton‟s law is a fundamental

scientific principle. Newton's Law states that nothing movesby itself (or change it‟s existing state unless an energy is

force to actualize it.

Therefore, as per science, there must be a FORCE outside (in

addition to) the universe, which is a real being,

transcendent to the universe.

There has to be a first mover, moved by no other.

What or who is it.?? We understand that power to be the God…

'Changing universe' is the sum total of all matter, space and time.

These three things depend on each other. Therefore God is

outside of matter, space and time. God is not a changing

thing, but the unchanging source of change.

2. Intelligent Design – A miracle in front of the eyes that we don’t notice

Anomalous expansion of water (taught in the school). Materials

usually has 3 states. solid, liquid and gas. The materials has

maximum density when it is in the solid state. Water is an

exception to this rule. Water in its liquid state has maximumdensity at temperature 4 degree Celsius (39 degree

Fahrenheit). At this temperature, water is more denser than

the ice which is at 0 degree Celsius(32 degree Fahrenheit) or

lower .

In winter as the temperature goes down, at 32F(0 Celsius )

the water becomes ice and float on the top. The water at 4

degree Celsius being denser remains at the bottom. Also

ice is a bad conductor of heat and cold. Water is the only

element in the universe that shows this feature. The fishes

and plants in the river and lake survive winter onlybecause of this special feature of water. Otherwise the

waters of the seas would start freezing and turn into ice

from the bottom, killing all. Why did the cosmic designer

change the laws of physics/chemistry for water ...............

from 0 degree to 4 degree?

God seems to be leaving a proof so that the 21st century man will recognize this.

As the science advance , we see thousands of design aspects without which life

cannot exist.

If the earth was not rotating, one side of earth would be burningand the other side would be frozen.

Earth is a privileged planet at right distance from sun. The

speed, gravitational force, distance, orbital path are all

perfectly balanced.

Without gravitational force on the earth, we would have been

thrown out into space due to the high speed rotation of earth.

If the axis of earth was not inclined(23 degree), there won't beany seasons. So too much heat or winter would destroy us.

God looked at everything he had made, and he was pleased..” – Bible-Genesis 1:31.

If it was too slow then only neutron stars and black holes would be produced.

Fundamental use of probability :

If the probability of a stock going up is .5 ( that is 50%) or more you may buy a stock. Perhaps in

special situation, You may buy it if the probability is less than .1 also. But will you buy it If the

probability is 1/1000,000. No, because you know it won‟t happen. What if the probability is

“1 divided by a Google or many trillion” times. Will the atheist buy that stock ?

Any times the probability goes down, from a practical angle we know it will not happen. Withinfinite time, probability may improve little bit , for certain things. But only to a certain level.

Mathematicians have proved the probability of life coming out of non-living things are incredibly

small ( almost infinitely small). Logically it means it will never happen.

But It is sad to see that some atheists are abusing the probability and cling on to their vicious

arguments by this ridiculous number of the probability. They simply don‟t understand what thatmeans.

Issues in creating matter from energy

Einstein‟s equation s shows energy can be created from matter (used in atom

bomb). The reverse is very difficult. Scientists have collided electrons and

positrons and the kinetic energy was converted to subatomic particles.

Now consider the big bang. How much energy, how much magnetic force and

Intelligence is required for the matter for this nature. Then comes the

meaningful structure, then comes the life, then intelligence.

What is the source of energy, magnetic force and the sophistication needed.Without super intelligence and super power, it is impossible to create all these.

It's not possible, however, to collect these newly created particles and assemble them

into atoms, molecules and bigger (less microscopic) structures that we associate with

'matter' in our daily life. This is partly because in a technical sense, you cannot just

create matter out of energy: there are various 'conservation laws' of electric charges,

the number of leptons (electron-like particles) etc., which means that you can onlycreate matter / anti-matter pairs out of energy(not real molecules). Anti-matter,

however, has the unfortunate tendency to combine with matter and turn itself back

into energy. Even though physicists have managed to safely trap a small amount of

anti-matter (less than 10 anti-hydrogen atoms in 95) using magnetic fields, this is

very difficult. For a milligram of matter, the best lab with sophisticated equipments

have to work for billion years !

of the cosmos 8. The mass density of the universe, 9. The fine structure constant 10. The

decay rate of a proton, just to name a few.

Atheists say that “All we see in nature came “by chance”.With infinite time, infinite possibilities (probability ) exists. What we see is one of the

infinite possibilities. So all we see now came by chance(probability).

question--was the creation caused or was it Not caused?

• The Bible states, "In the beginning God created the heaven and theearth." Not only does the Bible maintain that there was a cause (a creation)but it also tells us what the cause was. It was God.

• The atheist tells us that "matter and energy are self-existing and notcreated." If matter and energy had a beginning and yet was uncaused, onemust logically maintain that something would have had to come into

existence out of nothing. That is matter and energy would have to come intoexistent from an empty space with no magnetic force, no matter, no energy,and no intelligence.

• This is impossible. But Even if this could happen by some strange newprocess unknown to science today, there is a logical problem.

• In order for matter and energy to come out of nothing, all of our scientific

laws will become invalid.• No reasonable person is going to do this simply to maintain a personal

atheistic position.

• The atheist's assertion that “matter and energy is eternal” is wrong. Theatheist's assertion that the universe is uncaused and self existing is alsoincorrect. The Bible's assertion that there was a beginning which was caused

is supported strongly by the available scientific evidence.

• “If it (a concept or morality etc.) works for you that is OK”. But

wisdom of ages points to God.

• A real Christian would recognize the fact that car will never appear

by chance. On the attached birthday card(Bible), he will see and

recognize the signature of his dad ( God). He will be thankful and

try to do the will of heavenly father, since it is for his own good.

• If you argue like atheists, you may see the birthday card (bible) but

never read. You might argue, the car just appeared there by

chance. The paint fell on the old car at night giving it new color.

Because of probability, the wind, rain, lightning and gravity, the

old car evolved to a new car taking millions of nano seconds. Wellit is a possibility, even though the probability is 1/ infinity!

• Again I simply don’t want to believe that someone would ever do

this for me. Because then I will be obliged to him. But I am going

to use the car whichever way I want, ignoring the documents, that
