A direct object is just another name for
something that is receiving the action.
Example: My child kicks me.

Direct objects can be anything, not just
people but also things, as long as it is
the one receiving the action.

Nouns and the second is

Direct object pronouns can be used to
replace direct object nouns. One verb
one choice, ALWAYS place the pronoun
in front of the verb
For example:
Yo compro los libros. Yo los compro.
**In this case the direct object pronoun is placed in
front of the action (verb) - “compro” .

the answers (next page)… For the following, replace the noun in bold with the appropriate direct object pronoun.
1. Mi hermano compra los boletos.
2. Juan tiene las maletas.
3. Nosotros llevamos el pasaporte.

Where else can pronombres
go? TWO VERB SENTENCES have TWO CHOICES. Not only do
the pronombres de objetos directos go before the conjugated
verb, but they can also connect to the end of an infinitive.
Example:
Voy a comprar los boletos.
Voy a comprarlos.
Los voy a comprar.
Los pasajeros tienen que facturar el equipaje.
Los pasajeros tienen que facturarlo.
Los pasajeros lo tienen que facturar.

For the following, identify the direct object noun and rewrite the
sentence replacing it with the direct object pronoun (write choice
one and choice two since these sentences have two verbs)
