Annie ChanCustomer Service, Residential SolutionsHead of Customer Engagement –Residential Solutions

In over 20 years with HKBN, I have grown from a management trainee to become a Co-Owner of HKBN and now the Head of Customer Service in Residential Solutions. Over the years, I held management roles in various departments including Service Provisioning & Fulfilment, Customer Service, CPE, Network Maintenance, and Quality Management. I was also the “Mini-CEO” for 1 district out of 5. From an outsider’s perspective, my career looks smooth, but the reality is that there were many failures and frustrations in between.

Each time I picked up a new department, new challenges awaited. Each team’s way of doing things, mindset, skill, knowledge and tasks ahead were totally different. Along the way, failures and setbacks had been frustrating but they never stopped me from fighting for my mission. In every department I led, I used a pragmatic approach to understand difficulties the frontline faces, identify significant issues, determine root causes and embed performance & process change projects to uplift their performance.

These challenges and experiences greatly accelerated my growth in managerial skill and perspectives and most importantly, build my belief in embracing “change”. As a leader, I believe my role is to help and encourage one another to shine brightly through their abilities. I always encourage my teammates to make brave commitments, and remind them that communication, teamwork and persistent actions are the key factors to success. Regardless of the result, they will then grow faster and become stronger.

There are three quotes I always put in mind:

“Before you assume, learn the facts. Before you judge, understand why.”

“Always prepare yourself for opportunity when it comes”

“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often”

Hello HKBNers!

My HKBN journey has just started. I joined WTT in 2013 as a project engineer, working in the ICT side to provide after-sales services to customers. Now, I lead a small team to handle ICT projects.

The past 6 years have not been easy, but I enjoyed challenges and by tackling these challenges, I earned a wide range of skills and knowledge.

Leave your comfort zone, be open minded and never stop learning are some tips to getting promoted in HKBN.

Gladys ChengCorporate Communications Director – Corporate Communications

It’s a bit embarrassing to write a reflection on my promotion to Director – Corporate Communications, as many of my peers in my career life have moved up much faster and higher; some have even made it to CEO. I’m in no position to boast, rather, I want to speak from my heart.

Thank you!

First, thank my Lord for taking me to HKBN, and guiding and sustaining me every day.

Second, from the bottom of my heart – I thank my teammates Ryo, Julia, Ada, Stella, Jowy as well as our new teammates at KITEC Samantha and Elsie, for their staunch support and professional work, in hectic days and the not-so-often non-hectic days.

I’d also like to thank fellow HKBNers for creating a friendly working environment here. Mates at Legal & Regulatory, Technology, Product Development, Marketing, Customer Care and many more are always quick to come to my rescue when their professional advice or support is needed. Many others have been tolerant of my directness or sometimes impatience in the course of our collaborations. I know it and I thank you.

And to all Management Committee members, particularly William and NiQ, I express my gratitude for your trust, support and your big heart for allowing me to frankly share with you my views in different circumstances. Your commitment to our Core Purpose and your visionary leadership which set HKBN on a strong growth trajectory, have made corporate communications a much easier job – I only needed to articulate the facts rather than play a spin doctor.

True character of a brandCorporate communications, to a large extent, is about telling a compelling brand story. This seemingly straight forward job, however, can be pretty tricky at times given the ever more complicated and fast changing social and business environments, as well as the different interests of different stakeholders. At the crossroads, I always bear in mind that a great company is defined not only by its business performance, but also its character and integrity. A great company must have the resolve to always do the right things, and the courage to right the wrongs. In the seven years that I’ve been with HKBN, I witnessed many times how our leaders made such decisions and moulded HKBN into a great company.

It has been an exciting journey growing together with HKBN. Rarely have I seen any company in Hong Kong that embraced the same level of insatiable, across-the board passion for growth. Where we are now is beyond our wildest dream back in 2012 when we had our MBO. Now as we sprint together on the fast track towards our goals, it is all the more important to stay true to our distinctive company culture in interest-aligned entrepreneurship, as well as steadfastly uphold our Core Purpose and Core Values.

We are building an extraordinary company. Let’s stand tall with pride and stay hungry for continuous improvement.

Dennis ChengTalent EngagementManager – Talent Management

Nothing is impossible in HKBN as long as you are willing to jump out from your comfort zone!

I started at WTT in July 2012 and focused on Compensation & Benefits (C&B). In the past 7 years, I got familiar with all C&B operations of WTT and had the chance to cooperate with stakeholders from different departments. During the process of the merger of HKBN and WTT, I asked myself,

“Do I want to stay in the same position with similar job duties for another several years?”

“What do I look for regarding my career development?”

All these questions reminded me of my career objective: contributing my knowledge and experience to the development of the Company.

With the promotion, I am now responsible for providing Talent Services to all Talents of HKBNES, including both the Talents of ex-WTT and HKBN; in other words, to become the business partner or even the business driver of the stakeholders. To me, the promotion is not only a matter of pay raise or a title change, but it is also a chance for me to jump out of my comfort zone, broaden my exposure and achieve my career objective. It is definitely a challenge but also a good opportunity for me.

As a father of two daughters (one studying P.4, one P.1), I always tell them not to be afraid of trying something new, as lessons always can be learnt from failures. I hope I can be a good example to them by jumping out from my comfort zone.

Edward KwanFinance, Enterprise Solutions Manager – Finance

The beginning of my CTI/HKBN journey dates back 15 years, I have grown from an account clerk to a manager. Changes and challenges constantly occurred in my working life with major highlights namely: acquisition of ex-WTT and ex-NWT and costs saving assignment in the negotiations of government rent and rates. As one of home-grown management team members, I would like to share my experience.

Change – I maintain the mindset of never being fulfilled. With this mindset, I can stay energetic in pursuit of “change” without caging myself in a comfort zone. “Change” may be good or bad, but regardless, the lessons will stay with me. At the same time, I always motivate my teammates that to grow, they must take risks by stepping out from their comfort zone.

Be prepared – After resigning from CTI, I successfully received the title of Certificated Professional Accountant in 2015 after a successful the CPA exam. Due to my preparedness and vast accounting knowledge, Andrew and Connie gave me opportunities to participate in different projects such as M&A and ES budgeting. These projects absolutely inspired me to think outside the box as the work is nothing like anything I’ve ever done.

Engaging – I do not have capacity to manage with all jobs, therefore, I need a team (like the HKBN Elite Football Team) to get all the things done. Engaging with all my teammates, I can understand their need and advantages in which I can delegate the appropriate tasks and allow us to grow together.

Jacky LeeSolution Consultancy & Project Management Manager – Solutions Consulting

I was employed as a project engineer started from Aug 2013 in WTT HK Limited. At that time, the responsibility of team is to handle project implementation of network solution for enterprise customers and operation of cloud platform. After the merger of HKBN and WTT, I took the chance to join the HKBN family and realized the difference on Talent development.

WTT experienced high staff turnover due to the increasing labour market competition in 2016-2017. Talent experience, product knowledge, expertise and manpower were lost in mere few months. As the team leader of the project team, I needed to consider the contingency plan on operations and maintain the service level agreement at this critical moment. By adopting automation and flexible arrangements, we were able to overcome this challenge. I sincerely appreciate the team’s support and their great effort.

“There are more answers than difficulties”. Don’t cower in the face of difficulties. You will build up your self-confidence by overcoming these challenges, in turn, extend that confidence to other facets of life.

Henry LiMarketing, Enterprise Solutions Associate Director – Marketing

My HKBN career began when I joined the residential marketing team in 2001. Over the years, I am grateful for all previous opportunities that allowed me to grow with the company, especially the internal transfer opportunity to Enterprise Solution marketing team. I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone to leave residential marketing team and took on the new challenge and joined the Enterprise Solution marketing team in 2015.

Today, I lead the Enterprise Marketing team, overseeing and executing various marketing, digital channel development, partnership management and communication initiatives. In the last 4 years, I have been given the chances to take new challenges in different important projects, such as NWT / ICG / WTT integration, Microsoft campaign, ES online channel management and advertising solution team development. The B2C experience I have gained in residential sector provides a unique perspective in assisting the ES to develop and implement B2B strategic marketing plans.

“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often”, ES needs to be more innovative and aggressive to change & grow our business to challenge HKT. We also need to benchmark Local’s & Overseas’ best practice to enhance our quality to improve our brand awareness and business performance in the corporate market.

Finally, I’m very pleased and proud to have the full support of my team to achieve all difficult business KPIs in the past 4 years. I couldn’t have done it without their effort & professional support. I will strive to do my best to lead the ES marketing team to assist ES Group to achieve the CO3 target.

My HKBN JourneyTime Flies! To celebrate my 3rd anniversary in HKBN, I read my first reflection which I wrote before I joined. At that time, I foresee what I will do and achieve in 5 years. Today, I have no doubt that I’ve not only achieved that milestone, but also gained a lot unexpectedly.

i) My powerful elite teammates

Before coming to HKBN, everything was about my career – my learnings, my achievements, etc. Today, after reading several reflections from my teammates, I am proud that I am not only changing and improving myself, but also empowering the whole team to grow and change as one.

ii) No Planning for success

I am a well-planned person. I have a clear roadmap for my life, e.g. completing my CPA before 25 and getting married before 30. Before joining HKBN, I believed that I could plan out my life. Today, that belief is disrupted. Changes are present every day, whether they are financial, business or political. Knowing this, I have become more flexible. I welcome changes and enjoy taking up challenges every day.

iii) Understanding myself

I stopped only focussing on the timeline and getting work done. Communications and presentation among team and across departments are also very important. Previously, I was not proactive and aggressive enough, and sometimes I did not pay attention to details and lacked patience when communicating with others. From now on, I will change from within and face my weaknesses head-on with an open mind

My Future HKBN JourneyAs a co-owner, what I consider is for the benefit of the whole group. I believe my future will be more focused on company-wide strategy, how to achieve AFF, and how to achieve “Make our Hong Kong a better place to live”. I am looking forward to taking up new challenges and contribute more to HKBN.

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead

We generally use our past experiences, that were most successful as reference, which is usually the most secure way to yield promising results.

However, after I started working at HKBN, I came to realize my previous working experience and skills were completely irrelevant. I was bewildered initially, but with no choice but to move forward, I overcame these difficulties. My HKBN coaches (including my superiors and colleagues) affected me deeply, and their words still stick with me.

“Your past experience is your asset but may become a negative asset as well that will prevent you from moving forward and innovating if we do not handle it with right attitude.”

“The best leader isn't just able to manage subordinates, co-workers or superiors, but is also able to influence the market direction and profession. “

“HKBN is a fast-moving company and you have to be brave enough to sit on it (a managing role). When you get up there, you'll then realize the company’s expectation is not about driving a red minibus but actually a Porsche or a Ferrari...”

In my previous roles, I have been restricted from exploring my plans or pursuing my ideas further due to conservative company polices. My only way forward was to follow. HKBN gave me opportunities to go ahead with my suggestions as long as the directions have value and are positive for our Talents.

I've been at Hong Kong Broadband Network for more than two years and it's probably the biggest bump in my career. In order to move to next level, the best way is to put the past aside, move forward and work smarter each day with my team members who have the power to innovate and succeed!

I started my new journey in Technology Network Development (TND) 3 years ago. Before that, I have walked into different roles through internal transfer several times. That’s part of the beauty that I think most other companies cannot give their Talents.

I worked in many roles like Internal Support, Customer Backend Support, Network Installation and Network Operation Centre. These opportunities gave me valuable chances to work and learn from other Talents from different departments in different projects.

Jumping out of your comfort zone

Changes will push you to grow and learn. It may not be easy, but supervisors and teammates can help along the way.

Tiara ChanFinance, Enterprise Solutions Assistant Manager – Finance

My journey in HKBN started two years ago in 2017. Prior to joining this big family, I was an external auditor for over six years and to be honest, it was quite a challenge for me due to the significant changes in environment and culture (HKBN is the better of the two). I am proud to say that I am part of our Finance team and especially, part of HKBN.

In my short time here, I have been offered a vast amount of opportunities for which I am grateful. I would like to share with you the lessons that I have been taught.

1. Be energetic and stay passionate about your work

To work in HKBN, being energetic and staying passionate about your work is crucial. I can still remember the first day I stepped foot in TAC, I witnessed and felt my colleagues are working at a fast pace with efficiency. This truly impressed me. To stay in this rapidly changing working environment, loving your job and what you do are crucial, and this is the motivation for us to deliver better work.

2. Maintain and develop your professional knowledge and skills

For Finance talents, updating yourself with professional knowledge is critical. Over these few years, numerous updates in accounting standards had a significant impact in the telecom industry. We must be aware of these updates.

3. Keep listening and keep an open mind

As we are a big family with different backgrounds and experiences, we may face different opinions on the same task. We should keep listening, put ourselves in someone else’s shoes, and bear in mind the 1-HKBN core value: “Make our Hong Kong a better place to live.”

My HKBN Journey

Taking part in various digital projects kickstarted my HKBN journey. The flat organizational structure and cooperative working environment here expedited my learning and knowledge growth.

I really enjoy working in this dynamic culture, where I am closely connected with my team as a trusted resource and learn how to best meet their needs.

Keep a Proactive Attitude!

HKBN always allow us to take our ownership, and that means taking initiative. You own the project and outcomes, and it means doing the best.

I want to turn innovative ideas into realities, and I am always looking to discover strategies for enhancing my work. When you take ownership, you are telling others that you can be trusted to do the right thing.

Keep a proactive attitude, your supervisor will definitely provide more opportunities!

Opportunities don't happen, you create them.

To drive success as a HKBNer, don’t be afraid of jumping out of your comfort zone! Embrace new ideas and adapt to new things, and the magic will come. It will make your working life more exciting with an ever changing scenery.

Winkie ChungRetention Marketing, Residential SolutionsAssistant Officer – Marketing

I have been working at HKBN for almost one and a half years. Time flies!

Telecom market is always one of the most intense and fastest-moving industries, and I truly felt it while working in the retention team. Our team tried to utilize every possible promotional channel to reach out to customers and we kept reviewing the effectiveness. Most importantly, we strived to add value to our services. Simply saying, put yourself in their shoes and you will know what they need.

Instead of sharing tips working in HKBN, I would like to share my attitude while facing challenges at work: don’t set limits on our unlimited potential. Sometimes we may get used to standardized and routine working procedures, and the tasks seem to go smoothly. However, the lack of challenge will cool our passion for the job. We should find more effective ways and be open-minded when new challenges come. You may think some ideas are not feasible, but be bold to try them out you could find a solution.

Every great thing is the sum of the little things. I am willing to spend my best effort to take on challenges and achieve greater targets. Now, I have been given a new opportunity to take part in an HKBN online shopping platform. Being a “shop owner” is definitely a big challenge and with it comes a lot of new insights! I look forward to witnessing my greater growth in HKBN!

Gary LeeCustomer Experience, Residential SolutionsOfficer – Operation Support

I have been at HKBN for more than 10 years. At the beginning, I was in the sales fulfilment team; now, I am in the CS support team. My job duties changed from customer facing to customer services support and data analysis. These are valuable experiences for me. I am grateful that I can grow with the company.

My attitude has changed from passive to active. I will actively identify and discuss any issues I find as that goes a long way to improving our work flow.

Good communication also helps improve efficiency as asking the right questions can help reduce duplicated or incorrect tasks.

I would like to thank my manager and teammates who have provided good working atmosphere. We support each other to meet the team’s goal and face new challenges together.

Last but not least, I am happy that my effort has been recognized by the company with this promotion opportunity. I hope more Talents can share their successful stories in this big family in the future.

Joe LeungTechnology Network Department Senior Engineer II

My HKBN journey My HKBN journey has started after the acquisition of NWT in 2016 and I have been a Co-Owner after the acquisition. In these three years, I have participated many events with company sponsorship such as Standard Charted Marathons, Basketball competitions and Spartan Races. Those events were memorable and I made friends from other departments.

After the acquisition, I joined TND's core team and participated in many network design and upgrade projects. One of the most challenging achievement is the core network replacement project. In this project, we conducted a comprehensive test, worked closely with different teams, and discussed in-depth on network design and migration procedures. We worked through dozens of nights but the project was eventually completed. Because of my supervisors’ trust and support, I overcame lots of difficulties and gained valuable experience.

Tips for getting promotion in HKBNTeamworkTeamwork is a key success factor. To meet a project timeline, you must learn to delegate. Your team needs to understand the goals and the work to achieve them. People are free to express their ideas, opinions and potential solutions to problems. Communication should be open, honest and respectful.

Proactively communicate and work closely with counterpartsTo get the job done, help from other departments is also very important. Take the initiative to ask questions if there is uncertainty. For example, our work will inevitably require configuration changes involving real-time network devices. When performing network changes, we must proactively communicate and work closely with network operation team to monitor the network performance and avoid any impact.

Equip yourselfThe technology is rapidly changing, and we must update our knowledge and equip ourselves to meet new market demands.

Motivational message for other HKBNersFace your fears. People are always afraid of failure and lack the courage to try. But, not trying is already a failure. Breakthrough your fears and challenge yourself.

Jenn LeungMarketing, Residential SolutionsAssistant Manager – Business Analysis & Marketing

My HKBN journey

Previously a staff member in NWT, I have joined Marketing group of HKBN as Business Analyst - Marketing in April 2016 after the acquisition of NWT. Besides being wowed by the company culture, one of the major differences between the role in NWT and HKBN is expansion of job responsibilities. My duties in NWT were mainly on reporting support for IDD services. Besides IDD, I had no idea what other businesses the company did. At HKBN, I deal with different analytical tasks on all residential businesses. It was challenging at first but it let me grow rapidly. In September 2016, I have the chance to witness the launch of MVNO and the disruption we made to the mobile market. Since then, I have had the opportunity to conduct MVNO-related analysis. Joining HKBN has forced me to jump out of my comfort zone and to become more proactive since every insightful analysis will bring positive impact to the business.

Keep Challenging Yourself

Most ‘da gong jai’ employees will be satisfied if they can meet the expectation of their boss. At HKBN, this is not the case as the Talent with this mindset will easily fall into the bottom 5% in the annual performance review. To secure your job and promotion , you must be equipped with the mindset of exceeding others’ expectations and to go above and beyond your current role.

A Message to HKBNers

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook said that “You are better off trying something and having it not work and learning from that than not doing anything at all.” This exactly tells all of us the importance of stepping out of our comfort zone and thinking outside the box. In the end, learning from failure is the key to long-term success and growth.

My HKBN journey

I was transferred from NWT 3 years ago, and HKBN definitely brought a huge change to my career. From an administration officer in NWT to a marketing communications specialist for HKBN, I have had many chances to work on different projects that I have never expected early in my career – advertising production, retail shop management, brand building and brand guidance, etc., which are all brand new to me. It was not easy at the beginning to take up all these new challenges and new tasks, but all the efforts were worth it with the satisfaction brought by each achievement. I am so glad to see HKBN expanding rapidly and I am proud to be part this growth.

Tips for getting promotion in HKBN

There are no quick tips for getting a promotion. It’s all about your working attitude. I believe when you work with the following mindset, you can succeed.

Message to HKBNers

“The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.” Let’s work together as 1-HKBN and “MAKE OUR HONG KONG A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE”.

- Dare to take up challenges: Life doesn’t always go smoothly and results are not guaranteed, but difficulties and challenges always make me stronger. Gear up yourself and be brave to take up challenges. Trust and empowerment will then come to you.

- Be a good team player: Team spirit is the key to success. We can’t make things happen without our teammates’ contributions. Integrate our strengths, ideas and experience to increase the probability of success.

- Be responsive: Read new things, find new ways to explore and stay in tune with the trend. These can always equip us to quickly respond to the market.

I have been working at HKBN for six years, which is a longer journey than I expected. I started my HKBN journey at corporate installations team, then joining the transmission team a year later where I am now. Here I would like to thank my seniors and my teammates, for without their guidance and support, I wouldn’t see this success.

Keep learning is the key to success. Learning is the best way to improve myself. I am lucky that I joined TND which allowed me to contact new technologies and investigate the possibility to adapt them to our network. It is always fun to learn new things, and it keeps me passionate at work.

Here’s a little tip. Write down the notes rather than just memorizing them or saving them in the computer. The digitalization surely makes our work easier, but also makes us pay less attention on the work itself.

“Never give up any task, no matter how difficult it is, until you have tried your best.” This is my motto.

Kinki LeungCustomer Service, Residential SolutionsOfficer – Customer Relations

I have had some customer service experience before starting here. After becoming a part of HKBN’s customer service team, I noticed a stark difference. HKBN feels young, energetic and is constantly changing. Now, I am also witnessing a lot of changes in the department, and I will always value and welcome challenges.

In recent years, the company has co-operated with NGOs for various projects. It is a great honour for me to be a part of this change and give back to society with what I have learned from HKBN.

I am afraid of routine duties and fond of new ideas. I embrace defeat rather than fearing them. My teammates do not treat me differently because I am a woman, and we work together well as a team, regardless of gender.

Success is not something which happens out of nowhere, but it is something that starts accumulating the moment you make a decision. If you can stick to something, success will come eventually.

14 years of passion and dedication to HKBN.

The world is changing at a feverish pace, the telecom industry is also evolving every day and presenting new opportunities for me. I have been at HKBN for 14 years, starting as an executive at the Customer Care & Online servicing teams, as a front-line staff knowing first-hand information from customers’ voices, which equipped me with one of the essences when making marketing decision as a marketer – knowing what customers want. How they choose will have a profoundly impact, and I can make quick and concise marketing decisions in my role.

Good management in the HKBN family has helped me grow as a person. I learned ask good questions and listen intently, to offer compassion, to explore a person’s individual vision, and to build a caring relationship. This is how I was taught and now my new job is to assist someone else with making a change by spotting learning opportunities, setting the groundwork, and seeing things through. A big part of my job is to keep people progressing in the right direction, experimenting with effective two-way communications, then practicing and perfecting those that prove most effective to achieve HKBN goals. When I lead a team with compassion, it becomes contagious.

As an assistant manager, the most important job is to help those around me reach their greatest potential while driving customer adoption with strategies to increase market share and penetration.

HKBN always reminds me that “if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change”.

I appreciate the opportunity to become an Administration Assistant which has been my aim. I spent lot of time working with different departments, enabling us to make fast decisions and responses. Working with different Talents can be challenging, but it means routine tasks become more organic and less robotic. I would like to thank my partner for the awesome support to help me through the challenges, helping me take the right steps and focus on the goals. I'm nothing without my team.

There are always great opportunities to learn and share with peers from different backgrounds. We also share the same goals and targets, which can’t be found in other telecom companies. Whenever opportunity comes, fight for it and grab it, put in 100% effort to complete the tasks, which is the key to success. Cheers!

Since becoming an HKBNer in May 2015, the journey has always been exciting. Before joining HKBN, I didn’t have much relevant experience in the field of procurement. If you want to know where I worked before related to procurement process, I can tell you that it was mainly placing PRs via the ERP system.

I always remind myself to “Think more & Do more”. Thinking and anticipating what will happen next and preparing well on every managed area, I can strive to support business functions to exceed their expectations.

Last but not least, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to the management for this recognition as well as all those giving me opportunities and help this procurement freshman.

Sebastian YuFinance, Enterprise SolutionsSenior Officer – Finance

It’s been 6 years since I graduated, and it’s been 6 years since I’ve started worked here (oh how time flies). I’ve worked in the Finance team since joining and the journey so far has been very fulfilling. I’ve met great teammates that motivated me to keep pushing on even in the most trying times (ask anyone in finance those dark days of taking our CPA exams) and taught me almost everything I know. Career-wise, I’m grateful that my supervisors and other senior Talents have had the patience to teach, grow, and transform me.

Question the Status Quo (Stronger Edition)

I’ve recently learned about this “stronger” version of questioning the status quo. We normally try to find a more efficient way to complete tasks, but not a lot of us will think, “Can this entire process be eliminated?” If the routine or report is not needed for compliance and only serves as a “just in case”, why not save yourself the time?

Share With One Another

We all have our strengths and weaknesses; rather than putting up a strong persona all the time, be the person that asks questions. Fortunately, HKBN has a fostered a learning culture and I believe by teaching and sharing our strengths with each other, we can all move up together. I have personally witnessed and experienced this with my teammates (especially in the past few months) and am grateful for it.

Do or Do Not; There is No Try

Whether a task or project is assigned or volunteered, don’t just do your best. Doing so will only leave you with roadblocks after roadblocks which will ultimately leave it unfinished or half-baked. Find ways to eliminate those blocks whether it’s learning a new skill or asking for help from your peers. Also, if you know where this quote is from, we have much to discuss!

John ZhangTechnology Network Development Engineer I

I started as an outdoor technician for network maintenance in NOCNM. I have witnessed many major events including acquiring Y5ZONE, our IPO, acquiring NWT, ICG, and more. The company has changed a lot, and during this time I also kept learning and received several IT certifications. In the fifth year, I joined TND, and came face-to-face with high-tech equipment.

Nowadays so many technology companies advocate overtime work, but thankfully, our company promotes LIFE-work balance, and it helps keep me recharged every day. I think working hard is important, but working smart is just as important. As the movie <<Men On The Dragon>> said, “It’s easy to move forward in the straight road, but turning a sharp is hardest.”

HKBNers are diversified, trustworthy, and efficient. The MCs are open-minded. I am honoured to be part of this company.
