CINEMA ROUGE ET NOIR21.00 Public Screening: Io sto con la sposa Antonio Augugliaro, Gabriele Del Grande, Khaled Soliman Al Nassiry / Prod.Gina Films, DocLab and 2617 funders / Italy, Palestine / 2014 / 89’ A Palestinian poet and an Italian journalist meet five Palestinians and Syrians in Milan who entered Europe via the Italian island of Lampedusa after fleeing the war in Syria. They decide to help them complete their journey to Sweden – and hopefully avoid getting themselves arrested as traffickers – by faking a wedding. With a Palestinian friend dressed up as the bride and a dozen or so Italian and Syrian friends as wedding guests, they cross halfway over Europe on a four-day journey of three thousand kilometres. This emotionally charged journey not only brings out the stories and hopes and dreams of the five Palestinians and Syrians and their rather special traffickers, but also reveals an unknown side of Europe – a transnational, supportive and irreverent Europe that ridicules the laws and restrictions of the Fortress in a kind of masquerade which is no other than the direct filming of something that really took place on the road from Milan to Stockholm from the 14th to the 18th of November 2013.Antonio Augugliaro, the director, and Tasnim Fared, the “Bride” will introduce the italian version of the film. Un poeta palestinese siriano e un giornalista italiano incontrano a Milano cinque palestinesi e siriani sbarcati a Lampedusa in fuga dalla guerra, e decidono di aiutarli a proseguire il loro viaggio clandestino verso la Svezia. Per evitare di essere arrestati come contrabbandieri però, decidono di mettere in scena un finto matrimonio coinvolgendo un’amica palestinese che si travesti-rà da sposa, e una decina di amici italiani e siriani che si travestiranno da invitati. Così mascherati, attraverseranno mezza Euro-pa, in un viaggio di quattro giorni e tremila chilometri. Un viaggio carico di emozioni che oltre a raccontare le storie e i sogni dei cinque palestinesi e siriani in fuga e dei loro speciali contrabbandieri, mostra un’Europa sconosciuta. Un’Europa transnazionale, solidale e goliardica che riesce a farsi beffa delle leggi e dei controlli della Fortezza con una mascherata che ha dell’incredibile, ma che altro non è che il racconto in presa diretta di una storia realmente accaduta sulla strada da Milano a Stoccolma tra il 14 e il 18 novembre 2013. Il Film sarà presentato dal regista Antonio Augugliaro e dalla “Sposa”, Tasnim Fared.

Four women in colourful balaclavas give an intense performance of a punk number, packed with politics and anger. The target of their performance is the omnipotent Vladimir Putin, and their chosen location is Moscow’s most important Orthodox church. The video went viral and the world discovered the Russian activists Pussy Riot. This documentary looks at their performance, the resulting scandal, imprisonment, international tensions, and sheds light on today’s Russia and its shifting political elements. The film’s captivating fragmentary nature shows the beauty - and the danger - of speaking out against the powers that be.Mike Lerner, the director and producer, will introduce the italian version of the film.Febbraio 2012: un video strano e confuso appare su Internet. Quattro donne con indosso dei passamontagna colorati interpretano con foga un brano punk, denso di politica e collera. Il bersaglio della loro musica è l’onnipotente Vladimir Putin, il luogo che hanno scelto per esibirsi è la chiesa ortodossa più importante di Mosca. Da quel video che ha fatto il giro del mondo è nata la leggenda delle attiviste russe Pussy Riot. Questo documentario ripercorre le loro performance, gli scandali, il carcere, le polemiche interna-zionali, allargando l’obiettivo alla Russia di oggi e alle sue mutate istanze politiche. Factory Film / Italy / 2014 / 68’  A cinematographic journey through a forgotten page of nineteenth-century Italian history: the revolt of the Sicilian Workers Lea-gues (Fasci Siciliani dei Lavoratori), a coordinated popular movement of farmers, labourers and miners never previously witnessed in Italy. The film is a polyphonic tableau of the shift from one age to another: the collapse of the nineteenth-century social milieu and the dawn of capitalism. It investigates the battle against worker exploitation and the liberation of the downtrodden Sicilian peasantry from feudal slavery against the backdrop of the poverty and unemployment of the first European economic crisis and the turbulent political life of the Kingdom of Italy. In October 1893, Rome’s La Tribuna newspaper sent chief correspondent Adolfo Rossi to Sicily to cover events. This film is based on the extraordinary investigative report he produced travelling across Sicily on a mule, and may hold a number of surprises for anyone seeking a deeper insight into present-day events. Nella Condorelli, the director and artistic crew Alessandra Costanzo, Enrica Rosso and Federico Price Bruno, will introduce the italian version of the film.Un viaggio cinematografico in una pagina dimenticata della storia italiana del XIX.mo secolo: la protesta repressa nel sangue dei Fasci Siciliani dei Lavoratori, movimento popolare considerato in Europa secondo per importanza solo alla Comune di Parigi.  Un affresco corale  del passaggio da un’epoca all’altra: la fine dell’Ottocento e l’avvento della società capitalista. Le lotte contro lo sfruttamento del lavoro, le speranze di riscatto dei laceri contadini siciliani dalla schiavitù del feudo, e insieme la prima crisi economica europea, la miseria, la disoccupazione, la turbolenta vita politica e parlamentare del Regno d’Italia. Tratto dall’inchiesta realizzata all’epoca “a dorso di mulo” dal giornalista veneto Adolfo Rossi. Un viaggio in Sicilia e un’inchiesta straordinari, l’unica testimonianza diretta esistente di quei fatti e dei suoi protagonisti, contadini e zolfatari, donne  e uomini, con qualche sorpresa per la comprensione dei fatti di oggi. It is a sobering thought that Chinese documentary channels such as CCTV 9 and CCTV 10 achieve an average prime time audience of 60 million viewers.FOCUS ON CHINA@IDS 2014 consists of a panel session and a workshop: The panel will represent recent best practices in Sino-Italian best practices. Moreover, eminent experts will outline the do’s-and-don’ts of working with China, and we will discuss GZDoc, the major festival/marketplace for documentary films held in Guangzhou with which Doc/it has started collaborating.Come in tanti altri campi anche nel settore televisivo factual e documentaristico la Cina sta diventando una realtà importante e un player di peso sempre più crescente sulla scena della coproduzione internazionale.
