This week, Macy’s ran a three-day back-to-school promo from July 19 through July 21. Discounts applied to kids’ and juniors’ apparel, shoes, backpacks, and more. Shoppers could get an extra 20% off with a Macy’s Wow! Pass. Macy’s is currently promoting its five-day semiannual clearance sale, which runs July 22 through July 26. Customers can enjoy savings of 50%–80% off on women’s and men’s apparel, bedding, luggage, kitchen appliances, jewelry, and much more.

BACK TO SCHOOL

This week, Target’s back-to-school promo features discounts on hundreds of items, including notebooks, backpacks, pencil pouches and crayons. Its back-to-college deals include storage bins, towels, bedding, kitchen appliances and décor. Customers can also get a $10 discount on any bedding and bath purchase of $50. Other discounts apply to kids’, women’s and men’s summer apparel.

Kmart is also running back-to-school/-college deals on supplies and apparel. The retailer is offering savings on bedding, storage and low-cost kitchen appliances in the college section, and on backpacks, lunch kits and pencils in the school section. Savings also apply to shoes and fall apparel for kids and juniors.

CAMPUS LIFE

This week, Kohl’s ran a two-day back-to-school promo. Deals included 50%–60% off all shorts, capris and knit tops for the family; $9.99 uniform polo shirts for boys; and $14.99 character backpacks for boys and girls. There were also savings to be had on shoes, sunglasses, handbags, and apparel for women and men.

Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale is here and will run through August 3. The retailer is offering discounts on a wide range of items from its new fall arrivals. In the women’s section, discounts apply to apparel by designers such as Tory Burch and Kate Spade. In the men’s section, discounts apply to items by Rag & Bone, Gucci and Lacoste, among others. Kids’ shoes and apparel, home, handbags and accessories are also on sale.

The Sears back-to-school sale features discounted apparel for juniors and kids. Savings include 50% off Sears’s exclusive kids’ apparel, 50% off uniforms for girls and boys, and $9.99 graphic tees for boys. Customers can enjoy an extra 15% off with coupon on clothing, accessories and fine jewelry. Other offers apply to bedding, kitchen appliances, fans and air conditioners.

Aldi is also promoting its back-to-school range, calling it the “Aldi School Shop.” After Tesco’s promotion last week, which featured prices starting at £3 (US$5), Aldi has basics such as sweatshirts and polo shirts starting at £1 (US$1.50), and trousers and skirts starting at £1.50 (US$2.30). Aldi is also offering full uniforms from £3.50 (US$5.40).

Debenhams is offering 20% off its back-to-school range, which is currently only available online. Featured products include trousers and shorts, dresses and skirts, shoes, sports kits, school bags, stationery, and other essentials.
