PBL has an established manufacturing facility situated on the Isle of Man (British Isles) and can supply bulk adsorbent gel slurry for both developmental and regulated CGMP manufacturing applications in volumes sufficient to meet the requirements of the largest biomanufacturing processes.
All our bioseparation products are supported by comprehensive regulatory support files and are produced in our controlled-environment manufacturing facility under an ISO 9001 quality management system.
PBL has developed an extensive range of high-performance off-the-shelf bioseparation products for the recovery and purification of biologicals or contaminant removal.
The product range covers a diverse array of applications from protein purification (recombinant proteins, plasma proteins, antibodies, albumin and albumin fusion proteins, and glycoproteins) to contaminant removal (endotoxin, prions, and serine proteases), as shown in Table 1.
We also offer a range of custom services for downstream purification to either identify/optimize a suitable existing PBL product, custom design a bespoke chromatography adsorbent specifically for your target biomolecule and application, or develop and manufacture an adsorbent to your own specification.
If you cannot find a suitable off-the-shelf PBL product, then we can custom design a chromatography adsorbent specific to your target biomolecule. PBL experts in chromatography development and can help optimize all associated process parameters, including column packing, to maximize the yield and purity of your valuable protein.
To support the identification of custom affinity adsorbents, PBL also has developed a Multi-Mode Mimetic Ligand™ library in a 96-micro column block format (PuraPlate™) that can be screened in chromatographic (flow-through) mode. The library comprises a diverse array of stable synthetic ligands attached to a high-flow agarose support.
The ligands incorporate combinations of functional binding groups, including anionic and cationic groups, polar groups, apolar groups, and other specific chemical functionalities, all of which have been preselected based on their proven ability to interact with proteins.
