PROMATON® lightweight refractory

bricks

Areas of Application

PROMATON® lightweight refractory

bricks are used in furnaces and thermal

processing plants with low mechanical

stress and without any corrosion loading.

They are particularly suitable for use in

continuously operated plants.

Examples include:

- ceramic industry plants like chamber,

bogie hearth and tunnel kilns

- anode baking furnaces

- coke ovens

- cracker and process plants in the

petrochemical industry

- combustion chamber lining

PROMACOR is suitable for high-tempera-

ture applications where low thermal con-

ductivity, low weight, high temperature

shock resistance and no fibres are requi-

red.

Examples include:

- interior insulation of laboratory and

industrial furnaces

- bogie hearth lining

- use as kiln furniture

- highly reducing furnace atmosphere at

high temperatures

- extreme chemical stress in the furnace

chamber at high temperatures

Material Description

PROMATON® lightweight refractory

bricks are produced from pure raw mate-

rials according to the casting or extrusion

process using fine burnout materials and

firing in modern furnaces. Production is

quality-proven and certified according to

ISO 9001.

PROMACOR is a high-temperature ther-

mal insulating material based on 98%

alumina for temperature applications at

up to 1700°C. PROMACOR is a fibre-free

material and does not contain any free

quartz. It is produced according to a

special sol-gel process.
