· Ebonyi will generate over N6b from local rice soon':Going by the assessment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ebonyi State would soon become a hub for local rice

production and supply in the South East and generating more than N6 billion yearly.

· Chinese firm to generate 15,000 jobs for sugarcane farmers:A Chinese commercial outfit, Lee Group, has established a sugarcane company in Kaugama Local Government Area of Jigawa that will generate 15,000 jobs for farmers and marketers.

EDUCATION/HEALTH:· Nigerian innovators to benefit from $7m grants:The African Academy of Sciences and the NEPAD Agency's Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa, with support

from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, are set to commit $7m seed grants to African innovations.
