- The first large corpus of Romanian social media content (2013-2015) - Principal Investigator with expertise in corpus linguistics; used innovative methods to gather over 139 million words of Romanian from a leading social media platform; disseminated the corpus via the SketchEngine platform;

- Voice recognition technologies in freelance translators’ workplace (2013-2014) – as part of the Ignite funding stream - Principal Investigator with expertise in CAT tools, Automatic Speech Recognition technologies and translator training; - Improving the accessibility of translation training for deaf and hard-of-hearing students (2012-2014) - a portion of my University of Leeds Student Education Fellowship, it allowed me to collaborate with colleagues in the Disability Team and implement and innovative workflow that enabled the and hard-of-hearing students to follow and interact with live lectures; - ARS ROCOCO (2004-2006) - http://elearningbakery.com/ars_rococo/ - Principal Investigator with expertise in corpus linguistics, linguistics, language learning, e-learning; I built an interactive platform helping English speakers with some knowledge of French learn to read in Romanian;

- In addition to my research activity listed in the section, I have also been supervising several PhD students (three of them have already graduated, and the thesis of one was recommended for research excellence) and examining PhD theses, as well; - I am an EU COST Action expert assessor; - I am on the Advisory Board of Translation Commons; - I was a Programme Committee member and peer reviewer for the RUMOUR 2016 Workshop on Social Media and the Web of Linked Data, part of the 8th International Conference on Computational Collective Intelligence (ICCCI 2016), Halkidiki, Greece, 28-30 September, 2016 - Moreover, I have peer-reviewing articles for academic journals - Tradumatica, The Interpreter and Translator Trainer, and Lingvistica Antverpiensia - and edited books, as well;

Teaching/training excellence - The MAATS students nominated me for the Inspirational Teaching Award of the Partnership Awards in 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2016-17 and 2017-18;

- I have been contributing to several articles, white papers and blog posts on the topics of translator training and CAT tools education such as: SDL and Memsource white papers & posts, and Jeannette Stewart’s Bridging the Gap which appeared in the October, 2017, issue of the Language Service Industry’s most important publication Multilingual.
