project proposal for illustarted people project

KATIE MANNIX - ILLUSTRATED PEOPLE - Project proposal My project is called Half-Empty, short and simple. I am not definite on my final outcome. However I know I want to make something to show negativity and how you feel. I am thinking about making some positivity bracelets for example; faith, hope, luck. success. I think to make a project about negativity it is only practical to make a positive outcome. I think my outcome will be successful and will attract attention and hopefully make an impact. I can use my own personal experiences to really bring out my creativity and my skills. I think it is really effective to be able to relate and have an understanding towards your theme, whether that be your depth of research or life experiences. It makes a huge difference. I made a box for a previous assignment, which is relevant towards this project. It showed a shattered appearance, but this time I want it to be more about mental health. The person on the inside, the crazy feelings and the ups and down. In my project, I want to include all aspects to negativity. The drug use, the lifestyle, the feelings, the anxiety. I am going to observe people, their walks and how they hold themselves. I am going to mostly use my own life experiences because of how negative I am. I have used a poem called The Night after those dreaded goodbyes. It was relevant to loneliness, I have also chosen to show some positive and negative quotes. A few sayings people use and obviously the main one “half-full or half-empty?” I am going to get an image of myself and use CAD to improve it and make it more unique and individual. By looking at just a face would you say they were negative or not? There isn’t really going to be a timeline for my project. As I am just going to get cool hunting images as I go through my day to day life. Next week I would like to try take some pictures of a model showing my specific theme and how people are half and half. I would like to use CAD a few times within this project. I am inspired by Geraldine Georges work. I think there is more meaning to each of her illustrations then what is portrayed. I would like to create something similar, she uses a mix of media. I am going to concentrate on using black and white, charcoal and inks. Personally I think the use of mixed media gives any image and illustration depth and texture. At the end of my project I am going to refer back to this proposal and see what I changed and evaluate my work. At the exhibition I will ask my peers and also the public what they think about my outcome and how my theme is portrayed to within it. I will rate how successful my work has been when the public and my peers can see the message I am showing. At the moment I am not set on my final piece, therefore I need to research more into my theme and chose exactly what I want and what will suit my theme and will show it best.

KATIE MANNIX - ILLUSTRATED PEOPLE - Project proposal

My project is called Half-Empty, short and simple.

A few sayings people use and obviously the main one “half-full or half-empty?”

I am going to get an image of myself and use CAD to improve it and make it more unique and individual.
