Seoul Travel Guide App for Iphone

Motivation of this project

The Scoop is an app for ‘An Inside Guide to New York’.

Why is it important?

These days, because of the trend ‘Han-Ryu’, the number of tourist in Seoul is increasing. Although there are a lot of books or papers of tour informa-tion guide, there are not many apps for iphone or android. Books or papers are heavy and some-times hard to find what you need at the moment. It is much easier to get information through phone apps by one click of button.

2. Weather Box

It shows the weather of Seoul.(I am thinking about using Yahoo por-

tal’s weather information.)

1) Maps: There are two types of map. The first one is for

using wifi, the other one is for when wifi is un-available.

- with wifi: Google Maps - without wifi: a picture of Seoul map - There is a button of ‘Current Location’ right below on the corner.

2) Korean

• It contains important travel Korean for foreign travelers in Seoul. It also has Kor-Eng & Eng-Kor dictionary.

This is an example from other app for Korean.

3) Emergency Call: The users can use this when they are in emer-

gency. It has the number of police office, 119(same as 911), etc.

4) Search: This is for searching any information about Seoul.

There are two ways of searching information. The first one is searching only in the application, which is unnecessary to have wifi, the other one is using Google search, which is unavailable without wifi.

5) Share: This is a place where people can share their expe-

riences in Seoul. This requires wifi service.

6) Transportation: This gives the users the information of subway in

Seoul. It has the map of subway and timetable.

This gives the information about Korea, such as history of Korea, current hot issue in Ko-rea(such as news), current president, etc. It uses the re-sources from wikipedia.

This has sub-menu, which are ‘my plan’, ‘favorite site’, ‘wish-list’, etc.
