• Project proposal is a systematic, factual, formal and persuasive description of a course of action or set of recommendation or suggestion.

• Engineers, Scientist, researchers, business executives have to write project proposals in order to initiate new projects, provide fresh ideas, solve problems.

• In a Project proposal you state that in exchange for time and/or money, you will give them something that they want or make something they desire.

Types of Proposals

1.According to structure a. Non Formal Proposals: brief description of suggestion or

recommendation b. Formal Proposals: long. for big projects and require elaborate

description. can contain several sections and sub section

2.According to nature of audience a. Internal Proposal: addressed to readers within the organizations b. External Proposal: communicated to people outside the organizations

more formal, detailed and elaborate

3.According to Source of origin a. Solicited Proposals: written In respond to specific request. b. Unsolicited proposals: written without any request for a proposal.

2.Table of Contents: • provides the reader an overall view of the proposal by

listing the main headings and the sub-headings in the proposal, with their page numbers

3.List of Figures:• includes list of tables, figures and charts used in the

proposal with their page numbers

4.Abstract :

• Provides a brief overview of the proposed project.• The problem• The projects objective• Key project activities• Total project budget

5.Methodology:

• Summarises the proposed methods of data collection and the procedure for investigating the situation/problem.

6.Introduction:• Which provides more complete background of

the problem

7. Statement of the Problem:• Objective description of the problem

• it is one or two sentences that outlines the problem that the study addresses.

• What is the problem?

• What are the factors that influence the problems?

8.Team Organizational Structure:

• Summary of the people involved and their qualification and experience.

• Responsibility of each member.

9.Proposed Plan and Schedule:– You should explain here your principal tasks, their duration, their

sequence & their particular purpose.

10.Advantages/ Disadvantages: – show that the proposal has more advantages by making some

realistic comparisons.
