    The project management as a subject is important from the point of view of students wanting to learn

    the project management fundamentals and the various techniques associated with it. Today project

    management is spread across geographical boundaries, thanks to the information technology and its

    support facilities. A project requires heavy investment and requires plenty of resources. Associated

    with every project there are inbuilt problems, uncertainties and risks.

    In this course students will learn about the project management fundamentals and the philosophies

    underlying every project. Student will be able to understand the various factors that influence a

    project and also learn about the various methods to organize, monitor , execute and control the

    projects.

    In the modern times, the organization are facing change at an unprecedented extent. The traditional

    and strategic changes are successfully met by managing these changes as projects. Thus, project

    management has laid the strategic pathway for management of product, service and organizational

    process changes in contemporary organizations. The success of non traditional teams in the

    management of changes is also due to the project approach.

    This unit is an introductory unit emphasizing on the basics of project

    management, the life cycle and the processes.

    In this unit process flows in a project management is introduced along with its

    scoping and planning tools.

    This unit will introduce the principles in project management, knowledge areas ,

    the macro issues, WBC and knowledge factor.

    Unit 4 Concepts of Conflict Management, communication, quality & IS

    Students will learn by this unit how the conflict can be managed in project, the

    communication requirements, quality management and the PMIS.

    Unit 5 Project Performance through PMO and HR

    In this unit the focus is on to understand how to improve performance and alsothe professional responsibility of team members in a project.

    Unit 6 Project Development and Modern Trends in Project Management

    This unit will enable students to understand project development process cycle

    and the modern trends in managing a project
