Abstract: [IEEE 802.15.1 pitch]
Purpose: [The following IEEE ComSoc Boston Chapter talk will provide the meeting participants with a short update on the emerging industry of Wireless Personal Area Network technologies e.g., Bluetooth(TM) Special Interest Group, HomeRF(TM), etc. and the parallel standards-making efforts that are deriving or creating the standards inside the IEEE. Wireless Personal Area Networks will proliferate early in the millennium and the IEEE P802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPAN's) will provide the leadership in the IEEE 802 Standards Committees to establish open standards for these WPAN's.]
