TurkeyEdirne Edirne Shopping Center

Redevco Turkey is developing a shopping centre in Edirne, Turkey’s most westerly city, bordering both Bulgaria and Greece. With its extraordinary cultural and architectural heritage, dating back to Roman times, Edirne, once the capital of the Ottoman Empire, is a popular tourist destination. The Shopping Centre is ideally situated at one of the city’s busiest junctions, close to an upmarket residential area and the campus of Thrace University. The project’s contemporary design will enrich the existing architectural heritage by harmonising the modern with the historical.

The Shopping Centre will provide some 30,000 sq. m. of gross lettable space and house a 5,000 sq. m. hypermarket, a 5,000 sq. m.Do-It-Yourself (DIY), the city’s largest cinema complex and 100 retail units.

Redevco aims to assess all its new development projects using green building standards. Redevco has selected the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) for this, an internationally accepted standard for best practice in sustainable development.

The Edirne Shopping Center is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013.
