VOLUNTEERING WITH PILMENY

Pilmeny Development Project has received the Investing in Volunteers Award: A UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.

Pilmeny Development Project is a community based voluntary

organisation which has been working in Leith since 1979.

The main emphasis of the project has been to work primarily with young and old.

What you can expect:

Meet new people in your local areaUse and develop your skills, knowledge and experiences Full Training offered Support and Supervision Out of pocket expenses and travel costs reimbursed Cover costs of PVG (if applicable to volunteer role)

PILMENY’S VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

PDP Youth ClubPDP Youth Club works with children ages 5-18 years old through weekly clubs and holiday provision. Volunteers can volunteer weekly, forthnightly or monthly.

Communication and Admin Support This can range from social media volunteers to assisting at events, from fundraising to leaflet distribution, from general office duties to helping create a bi-annual local magazine. This varied volunteering opportunity can be regular or ad-hoc.

Weekly / Monthly Older Adult’s Groups These lively and friendly groups meet once a week/ month in the afternoon. The groups provide companionship, activities, a cup of tea and a catch up! We ask volunteers to commit 2.5 hours per week/ month.

Pilmeny At Home Inreach Service Pilmeny At Home Inreach Service is looking for volunteers, to support and encourage socially isolated older people in their own homes, to engage with useful information and local opportunities. We ask volunteers to commit 1 or 2 hours for at least 3 months.

Pilmeny’s Coffee Meet-Up Groups Pilmeny hosts a number of coffee meet-up groups in the local area for local people. Maybe you could help at one of the meet-up groups? Volunteers can volunteer weekly, forthnightly or monthly.
