1. Introduction
The collaboration between DIBBAUG and UMU in the context of BIOPARTNERS project is a ring in a chain that has been already started from more than 10 years ago. The willingness for collaboration exists from both sides and cooperation in exchanging visits and research is slowly increasing. The expected results from the BIOPARTNERS project contains the setting up of an ambitious twinning program, the increasing of joint research and the increasing of visits by both sides. By this interaction, different ideas will be examined, new publications between both sides will be submitted and collaboration links of DIBBAUG will be extended to much more European Union organizations. This policy, which has been adopted by DIBBAUG and UMU, helps significantly in ensuring the sustainability of the twinning research between the teams of the BIOPARTNERS partners (DIBBAUG and UMU).

2. Formal Twinning Agreement between DIBBAUG and UMU
This agreement is based on the Memorandum of Understanding between DIBBAUG and UMU, which was signed in July, 2012 (The MOU is shown in the Appendix II). Two visits of officials of both sides have been taken place this year aiming to enforce the collaboration between the staff of DIBBAUG and UMU. The policy which has been adopted by both organizations helps significantly in ensuring the sustainability of the twinning research between the teams of the partners of BIOPARTNERS (DIBBAUG and UMU). In order to make Formal Twinning Agreement between DIBBAUG and UMU Professor Giorgi Kvestadze visited the University of Murcia in March of 2012 and Professor José Neptuno Rodríguez-López visited DIBBAUG. These visits were essential to establish a more close collaboration between the researchers of DIBBAUG and UMU. Three workshops on twinning activities were organized before signing the Twinning Agreement between DIBBAUG and UMU. The First workshop was held in Murcia after the Kick off meeting. The activities below were agreed to be developed during the project:
• Activity 1. In vitro and in vivo investigation of the bioactive properties of dry extracts from Georgian green tea. To search for the activity of these extracts alone or in combination with other drugs used for the treatment of cancers.
• Activity 2. Extraction and biological activities of inulin from dry extracts of topinambur
(Helianthus tuberosus L.). Production of inulin-containing functional food additives.
It was agreed that DIBBAUG would produce and investigate dry extracts from Georgian green tea and high inulin-containing dry extracts of topinambur (Helianthus tuberosus L.) and provide UMU with them for further investigation. The main objectives of these activities will be to find the biological properties of these extracts and formulate new bioactive products to further commercialization, introducing new products or production methods into the market. These tasks will reinforce Georgian’s international cooperation.
The second scientific workshop was held in Oxford, UK during the Conference Euro Phages 2012: Bacteriophage in Medicine, Food and Biotechnology. At this workshop the joint participation in the international conferences was discussed. It was agreed to participate (jointly) in the conference Euro Food Chem XVII which will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, on May 7-10th, 2013 and in conference the 5th world Congress on Tea & Health 2013, which will be held in Berlin, Germany on 24-25 th October, 2013.

Scientific Workshop on Twinning Activities in Tbilisi,, Georgia
In December 2012 the rector of the Agrarian University of Georgia Lasha Gotsiridze and the
rector of the University of Murcia José Antonio Cobacho Gómez signed the Twinning Agreement between both Universities. They agreed to the following:
1. Joint Research Programme. Exchange of researchers and PhD students (4+ scientists will be identified from both sides i.e. 8+ in total, and will integrate the twinning organization for short term secondments- two weeks). The researchers of both Universities will collaborate in joint research programme (1) DIBBAUG agreed to produce and investigate dry extracts from Georgian green tea and from high inulin-containing dry extracts of topinambur (Helianthus tuberosus L) and provide UMU with it and to produce inulin-containing functional food additives. (2) UMU agreed to investigate activity of these extracts alone or in combination with other drugs used for the treatment of cancers. Joint experiments between the two organizations will be implemented. Obtained results will be jointly published and will be the mutual benefit of both institutions.
2. Organization of three management staff visits. 3. Organization of six Scientific Workshops for the staff of the twinning parties in order to
allow sharing of data, information and knowledge. 4. Participation in conferences and presentation of twinning activities.
