OPATOVICE POWER PLANTElektrárny Opatovice, a.s. (EOP) is one of the leading energy suppli-ers in the Czech Republic. The main activity of EOP is the production and sale of electric energy and heat in the cogeneration process. The Opatovice power plant heat distribution system consists of 310 km of heat networks, supplying more than 60 thousand households in the region Hradec Králové – Pardubice – Chrudim and other entrepreneurial subjects in the region.

KEY FACTS• Project name DEDUST• Modernization of boilers K6, K5, K3 and K2 – dedusting• The aim of the project was to prevent the leakage of dangerous

substances into the air• Execution 2014–2015• Commissioning November 2015 • Tens of km of cables JYTY of PRAKAB production• 12 km of cables 6-AYKCY of PRAKAB production

PROJECTThe aim of the DEDUST project is to prevent the leakage of dangerous substances into the air or to at least redu-ce the amount of dust. This construction technology was applied in boilers K2, K3, K5 and K6. The primary measures lead to a reduction in NOx emissions at the level of 265 mg/m3 and include the recirculation of fl ue gases, sealing of the combustion chamber and rear section of the boiler, adjustment of the mill and fi neness of grind, adjustment of combustion and air redistribution. Secondary measures contributed to a further redu-ction in NOx emissions under the level of 200 mg/m3. These measures consist of the injection of urea into the combustion chamber.

CONTRACTThe DEDUST project included the delivery of JYTY cables, which facili-tate analog and binary signal distribution from temperature sensors, compression and vibrations, and are also used for an analysis. However, JYTY cables distribute signals from motor drives, dampers and valves. All signals are transmitted via cables to the management system, where they are analyzed. The PRAKAB delivery also included middle-voltage cables for the fi xed power distribution 6-AYKCY.
