Archaeology Survey Project. Rajgir Archaeological Survey Project (hereafter RASP), a joint collaboration between Nalanda University and Bihar Heritage Development Society, aims to conduct an archaeological survey of Rajgir in order to better understand the archaeological landscape of this historical city through available antiquarian remains. The duration of the MoU is three years i.e. till September 30, 2019. THE ROLE OF PROJECT COORDINATOR: The Project Coordinator is an integral member of the RASP team responsible for the systematic functioning of the project by directing, organizing and controlling project activities under the supervision of the Project Head. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To work as the bridge of-coordination and effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to the two funding agencies of the project 2. To accomplish work requirements of RASP by recruiting, training, and assigning tasks to Student Research Assistants at the university; 3. To assist in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, tenders, budgets, cash flows and preliminary schedules; 4. To prepare project organization and communication charts; 5. To track the progress and quality of work being performed under RASP 6 To work along with the Project Head for the preparation of annual reports on RASP; 7. To identify promising ways of deliverance of the survey results in form of archival; documentation as well as through the public engagement of archaeology; 8. To meet cost standards by monitoring expenses; implementing cost-saving actions; 9. To update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Post Graduate Degree history/ archaeology 2. Familiarity with literature about Archaeology and History of Bihar and understanding and

experience of conducting field surveys 3. As the project involves spatial analysis and mapping, knowledge of working with Google

Maps, GIS applications and other software applications of similar purpose is desirable. 4. Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills. 5. Proficiency in English as well as Hindi language is essential to be able to comprehend

research material available in the two languages and to converse with the speakers of both the language for the purpose of conducting field survey.

6. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment. 7. Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities. 8.
