WHY US?
INCDPM – the only R&D institute on occupational health and safety in Romania, with 60 years of tradition, developing a wide range of research and development activities, training and OHS services
UMF Carol Davilla – the most representative institution of medical education in Romania, with a long tradition in basic and applied research, the trainer of several generations of medical personnel
IRECSON - scientific research and educational institution founded in 1991, with a wide range of activities in both theoretical and applied aspects of economics
ASE - represents the peak of economic higher education in Romania, with almost a century of existence, offers maximum harmonization and compatibility with the EU education
The major objectives of the project are:
improving and developing the OSH competences of the personnel working in the Romanian health care sector
promote the most suitable means to ensure the adaptability of the health care personnel to an increasingly changing socio - economic environment.
Project target group:
1000 employees in health care sector:
20 specialists in occupational medicine
50 managers of health care units
930 physicians&nurses (of which 60% women)

-Geographical areas: 5 regions of Romania, where the training sessions on managing OHS risks in the health care sector will be held.-Institutions involved: local authorities, hospitals, universities, private medical practitioners
Project implementation
Project results:
A research and analysis report on OHS systems and medical activities in the EU, with reference to the OHS aspects in Romanian health care sector in 5 regions, including the need for training in occupational medicine
An innovative OHS risk management model for the identification, assessment and prevention of risks, surveillance of the personnel’s health, appropriate training on OHS risks to be managed in the health care sector
An IT application for identification, assessment and prevention of OHS risks, based on the OHS risk management model
Project results:
An OSH Training program, containing 7 courses:
OHS specialist, for 50 managers OHS inspector, for 125 employees (OHS Committee) OHS management systems, for 100 managers and
members of internal prevention and protection services (OHS department members)
Integrated Management Systems: Quality - Environment - OHS, for 50 OHS responsibles
OHS Good practices in the health care field - risk management software, for 150 OHS responsibles
OHS good practices in health care - OHS specific instructions, for 425 health care personnel
Good practices in management of the emergency situations (ES), for 100 ES responsibles
Project results : Virtual OHS Training Center, with Web Portal.
E-learning course for training of trainers for at least 16 trainers specializing in continuous professional training.
Website promoting the project.
Newsletter published on-line on OHS issues.
On-line information campaign for awareness on occupational hazards for medical staff
Project results:
Leaflets, brochures, promotional materials for information and awareness on OHS risks in the medical field;
Short documentary film made for information and awareness on OHS risks in the medical field;
5 events Public Relations (one for each region of the project);
International conference organized in 2013 and entitled “Safety and health at work for a competitive health care”;
3 articles in publications with national and international recognition
2 participation to international scientific OHS events
The project contributes to the EU strategy on sustainable development by:
increasing the OHS performance level,
increasing skills related to environmental protection and waste management (through training on integrated management systems adapted to the health care system),
continuous improvement of quality of life through knowledge and innovation, principles included in the National Sustainable Development Strategy 2007-2013.
