Testimonial

“Without the ground screws, the project simply wouldn’t

have worked. As well as the environmental benefits, we

were amazed at the time and cost savings compared to

traditional foundations. The system also avoids the need

for heavy, noisy machinery, skip hire or extensive ground

clearance - all of which were a ‘no no’ at this site. I would

say that we saved around £5-6k per pod by opting for

ground screw foundations that are designed to last.

Callum and his team were true professionals, and so

accommodating. It all worked well we would definitely use

them again, as they presented us with a solution to one of

our most challenging sites.”

Simon Maher, Lune Valley Pods

Creating solid foundations for four glamping pods on a remote hillside, where the ground was sloping and inaccessible.

A case of finding an innovative solution, or not installing the glamping pods at all.

No More Digging assessed the site and designed ground screw foundation layouts for four of Lune Valley’s glamping pods.

51 No. 1250mm long foundation ground screws were installed, providing a stable foundation to build the elevated sub-frames on, meeting all requirements, including leaving no mess or disruption to one of the most scenic landscapes in Scotland.

Project

Solution

The primary challenge was the location and massively uneven and sloping ground conditions. To have put a concrete pad down would have cost the customer five times the amount they had budgeted. With the hostel track a quarter of a mile from the main road, there was no way either a digger or concrete lorry would have made it onto the site.
