The Shire

The Shire is the homeland of hobbits. From here, Gandalf informs Frodo Baggins of the power of the Ring, and the quest that must be undertaken to destroy it and its owner, Sauron. Samwise Gamgee listens to them talk, and becomes Frodo’s companion.

Minas Tirith

Minas Tirith is where Sauron sends his army. Under the command of Gandalf, the men of Gondorhold off the siege until Aragorn arrives with an army ofundead, thus saving the city where Aragorn later becomes king.

Isengard

Isengard is where Saruman creates his armyIn allegiance with Sauron. He angers the guardiansOf the Fangorn forest, who attack Isengard when Saruman’s army lays siege to Helms Deep fortress.

Rivendell

Rivendell is home to the elves. There, Elrond givesadvice, weapons, and hospitality to travellers. There,it was decided that Frodo and Sam would beaccompanied by men, a dwarf, and an elf to aid themin their journey.

Mount Doom

Mount Doom is the final destination of Frodo and Sam. There, the Ring was forged and sothere they must cast it back into the fire todestroy it and Sauron.
