In a context of constant no-return
globalization, mastering English has
become an undeniable necessity
especially for engineers and scientific
students.
Through our different activities, we aim
at enhancing the student’s level in English,
especially in terms of communication and
fluency, which are key skills for engineers
and researchers.
ENSIT English Club works with the
principle of “progress through sharing”:
students come together and practice
English, students who master the
language well enough share their
knowledge with those having difficulties,
and everybody works in a healthy
environment of positive interaction and
mutual benefit through group activities.
The idea
BASIC LANGUAGE SKILL S Since the beginning of its activities the club
has worked on basic language/grammar skills.
The first hour of every activity session was
devoted to the practice of language/grammar.
The practice material was inspired by famous
programs such as British Council’s training.
This session aimed at giving the students who
had difficulties in the basic language skills a
chance to tackle this problem and upgrade
their skills, which is an offer made only by our
club.
SPEAKING/COMMUNICATION
PRACTICE Training themes vary from everyday casual
conversations to the practice of formal/
business presentations.
The speaking activities are mainly:
-Debates about news, scientific topics…
- The preparation of presentations, mini-
projects and real life situations simulation in
order to exercise for the actual use of English
as a communication language.
- The viewing of short movies or
videos followed by comments and
discussions.
- Practice for the certification exams (TOEFL
and TOEIC) through the simulation of exam
situations.
WRITTEN PRODUCTION The English Club encourages students to
practice writing and helps them correct
mistakes and develop their writing style.
The club also manages the English language
section of the school magazine and publishes
articles by its members in its blog.
(Other activities include group reading, helping
other clubs with translation in English, etc…)
