l ll Summary

l The Wolverine Option consists of 49 unpatented mining claims

j in Gapp Township, Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division. The property

is underlain by intermediate to mafic volcanics, metasediments,

l sulfide/oxide iron formation and mafic intrusives.

l During October/November 1988 a geochemical survey was

H conducted over the centre of the group. This survey involved the

™ collection of B-horizon soil samples which were analyzed for Cu,

l Pb, Zn, Ag, Au by atomic absorption methods.

l The results are plotted on the attached maps and show moderate

g anomalies for zinc and copper. Minor anomalies for gold were

™ distributed across the survey area.m

INTRODUCTION

l l i

The Wolverine property consists of 49 unpatented mining claims

l in Gapp Township, Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division. The claims

were staked over a period of time from 1986 to 1988.

lM A geochemical survey has been conducted over the central

* portion of the group along lines spacing at 100m and stations every

25m.

LOCATION. ACCESS. STATUS

l The Wolverine property is located in the east central portion

of Gapp Township, Sault ste. Marie Mining Division, approximately

l 70 kilometers northeast of Sault Ste. Marie.

Access is provided from Sault Ste. Marie by Hwy 17, to Heyden,

l Hwy 595 to Searchmont and all weather logging roads which bisect

the property, various auxiliary logging roads to the western

l portion, of the property, and the east boundary.

l The claims have been staked over a period of time since 1986-

I 1988 and are presently in good standing until their respective

anniversary dates in 1989.

LINECUTTING

l l i i

Linecutting for the present survey consisted of cutting

" 13.08km of grid and baselines from 800W to 1500W and 800E to 1500E.

*j The remaining lines were previously cut and repicketing was

completed for the present survey.

* GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY

lThe geochemical survey involved the collection of B-horizon

l soil samples by hand auger along the lines spaced at 100m and

g stations every 25m. If no B-horizon was encountered no sample was

™ taken. A total of 872 samples were collected, dried and shipped

l to Min-En Laboratories of Vancouver, B.C.

g The samples were sieved and analyzed for copper, lead, zinc,

g silver and gold. The Cu, Pb, Zn and Ag were analyzed by standard

* atomic absorption methods while the gold assays involved a fire

l assay with an A.A. finish.

The resultant anomalies are plotted on the accompanying maps

located in the attached pockets.

Page 7: PROGRESS RPT OF GEOCH SUR FOR WOLVERINE OPT...Report of Work l QOCI {Geophysical, Geological V\f8 Geochemical and Expen 41004NW8554 2.12495 GAPP 900 Expenditures (Sec. 77-19) rx. JGK

CONCLUSIONS

The geochemical survey successfully located areas of anomalous

zinc and copper which extended over strike lengths of up to 300m.

Although the anomalies are only moderate they may indicate

significant mineralization. Gold anomalies were mainly single

point single station weak anomalies. Further investigation of the

anomalies located will be conducted in May.

Respectfully submitted

Robert CalhounSenior Project Geologist
