Eighth Grade June Activities

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 5TH

Last Regular School Day for Eighth Grade Students This is the last regular day for eighth grade students. All textbooks and school materials must be returned, any financial responsibilities clear, and hall lockers cleaned out. All fees and fines must be paid prior to attending the 8th grade field trip and receiving a yearbook. THURSDAY, JUNE 6TH

Eighth Grade Field Trip to Oaks Park Eighth grade students with responsible behavior through the end of the school year will be invited to participate in this field trip. Students who have outstand-ing debts (registration fees, missing library or text books, damaged textbooks, etc.) will be asked to pay their fees before attending this field trip. Students must pre-pay for admission to the park/rides and transportation ($10.00). Students will be responsible to purchase their own lunch at Oaks Park or bring

a sack lunch from home or request in advance a sack lunch from the cafeteria.

Eighth Grade Recognition Students must be passing all 3rd trimester classes to participate. Students practice for the Recognition Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in the GHS Gym and will be dismissed at approximately 3:30 p.m. Those students participating in the Oaks Park field trip will be transported directly to GHS for the practice. All stu-dents will need to make arrangements for their own transportation home when the practice concludes. Students not going to Oaks Park do not report to Krax-berger on this day and will need to make arrangements for their own ride. The night of Recognition calls for nice dress, as would be appropriate for a special family gathering or church.

Eight Grade Party Begins immediately following Recognition and goes until 10:00 p.m. This party, sponsored by eighth grade parents, is for current Kraxberger eighth grade students only (guests are not allowed). There is no cost to students and dress is casual.

ALL Students — Classroom Textbooks Due

Wednesday, May 22nd

Parents… Please make sure your students have turned all classroom textbook into their teachers by the end of the day Wednesday, May 22nd, or you will be charged.

Eighth graders need to have all their books turned in to be able to go on the Oaks Park Field Trip or receive their yearbooks.

Dear Parents and Families: Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you can influence the most.

We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a cele-bration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mis-sion: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives.

Our Scholastic Book Fair is part of a reading event that brings to school a wonderful se-lection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose their own books will motivate them to read more. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they’ll get.

Reading is vital to every child’s success, and it’s the door opener to the 21st century for all children. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent’s direct involvement in their child’s education, please encourage your child to read this summer.

Book Fair Dates: May 28 - May 31 Shopping Hours: During All Lunches

If you’re all booked up during Book Fair week (or just want to keep shopping), be sure to visit the Book Fair online at www.scholastic.com/fair. The online Book Fair is available for an extended time from May 17 to June 5.

* Find an expanded selection of books for the whole family—preschool to adults

* Share your Book Fair with family and friends by sending wish lists or eCards

* All orders ship to school for FREE and each purchase benefits our school Sincerely, Mrs. Severson Library/Media Assistant
